I want confirm the news releases that typically have the potential to cause huge price changes in a short period. My understanding is, in no particular order:
Interest Rates
GDP
Employment
CPI (Consumer Price Index)
Are those the major 4? Did I miss any MAJOR ones or are any of the above NOT major? Only interested in something that can cause wild swings.
See this is why i keep telling people to have like(long) or dislike(short) a currency first then use fundamental, news and T/A to trade.Once you have an aim/view you keep track of past releases and you know how each release affected that currency.Without an aim or thesis those releases don’t mean squat. If you are long and a bad realease comes out,you change your mind and either close your trade or do nothing. If you are long the USD and prior to the news release USD has gaines alot, you sell into the release and if it didn’t you buy. This is when T/A comes in,by looking at the charts you will know if you are either early or late to the party. That’s how the pros trade cause sometimes they know the release before it comes, the same technics applies to stocks/futures trading when a company is about to announce quarterly earnings.
