When you say products I assume your talking about different currency pairs, and not Forex vs Stocks, Commodities and indexes.
EUR/USD is simply the most liquid pair to trade, usually followed by GBP/USD.
This just means that if you collected all traders together, EUR/USD is the most popular pair and the highest trading volume will take place in this pair. There is no trading advantage as such, unless your looking at the spread which is usually lower in this pair. But in terms of trading be “easier” it is not, it is the same difficulty for all pairs.
Spreads tend to vary with broker to broker when using a market maker broker, this is because they add their own mark-up onto the going market spread - which changes all the time.
If, on the other hand, you using a True ECN account (not for beginners) then you will all see the same spread as you are trading the market spread. Rather than the broker placing a mark-up on the spread here, they will charge you commission based on your total trading volume for the trade in question.
If your unsure what “spread” is, then go through the school here…you have a lot to learn
Go for EUR/USD if you’re a beginner. I agree with Jezzode that this pair is the most liquid currency pair to trade. So you’ve been reading education page of HY Markets? you thinking of opening an account with them? Been trading with them for over 6 months now. They have new spread on EUR/USD (1.8 pips). I know it’s the lowest spread you could get out there but i’m quite happy with the kind of security and customer service they are giving me.
In case you haven’t opened a forex trading account, just make sure to go for the regulated ones. Make sure they are regulated by a known regulatory body like FSA or NFA.
If you decided to open a real account with HY Markets, you might also want to take a look at their Year End Promotion. It ends on January 2013. Winners get a trip to the Caribbean plus cash prizes!
Opened an account with these guys a few years back. Problems with the live feed leading to a big loss counter to real PA. Agreed after back of house checked it out but would only offer credits into account to cover loss i.e. could not withdraw funds or swap to another account. Very poor, even their rep agreed. Still have a plus balance with these guys but on principal will never again trade with them.
