There are a lot of people here from all over the world and at different stages of their fx journey.
What brought you here, to Babypips? How did you find BP, was it recommended to you (as was the case with me)
Are you on any other fx forums, and why?
And if you’re on other forums, what differences are there between them ( I’m assuming there must be reasons to use more than one forum)
Is there anything you particularly like or dislike about any of the forums?
I’m not on any other forum myself, I just don’t have the time, so am interested in your experiences.
Whilst researching some stuff on internet I stumbled into a small FX-related forum purely by chance. I’d never participated in any forums even during a few decades of trading. It was a very positive experience but short-lived since the owners suddenly announced it was being closed. Several other posters there said they would be transferring to BP so I decided to come here, too.
My early impressions were very positive and I was particularly impressed with the input then from posters like @lexys, @PipMeHappy, @Turbonero, @eddieb, @_bob and a few others. In those days there was a feeling of sincerity and optimism and a willingness to help beginners. In my opinion, there was also a greater percentage of sincere and genuine Newbies who were prepared to roll their sleeves up and work hard, compared with the number of one-post starters we see nowadays.
I have perhaps lost my faith in the willingness of Newbies to do the hard work and who would rather just seek out a “method that makes me money” even if they don’t understand anything about how it “works”. So I don’t join in other threads that much any more.
But I still find that writing my thoughts out in posts of my own is a great help in focusing and crystallising them into concrete objective assessments and trading accordingly. And BP is a good home for doing just that.
My trading business includes an overall business plan (incl risk/money management parameters), a trading execution plan, a journal, and a regular review/adapt process. My postings here only relate primarily with operating the trading plan part of that, which is highly discretionary in its nature - so my being here is really an entirely selfish process!
But there are some clever and experienced posters here whose input I appreciate very much, both relating to trading and to other things in general - and that helps keep BP on my browser toolbar.
I ended up here because it was the last bastion of trading I could afford after grinding down investment fund trading options.
Initially thought day trading is the a way to go but I as I continued to learn and develop my strategy realized higher time frames are far superior.
Found BP by accident. Google search. Enjoy the company here! There seems to be a number of savvy traders more than willing to help if I come to the table prepared having done the initial research.
As I’ve said in a prior post… I prefer to dig with my spoon befor giving it to someone else.
