hi, im new to trading and just wondered why the japanease yen is currently a safe haven given japans gdp to debt ratio? also what are your thoughts on the singapore dollar as a safe haven?
Good question, one often worthy of research.
One perspective here:
Pound will be ‘safe haven’ currency of 2014, says Citigroup - Telegraph
Another analysis more specific to your question here (it is up to date);
thanks for the links, i thought the answers might be more than a paragraph or 2 long, ill read through them after work. thanks
reading the pound will be a safe haven was nice as im english, the yen seems to be a safe haven because it has worldwide spread assets i think, also it seems they’ve been through the worst of their crsis while the west has not really sorted out its 2008 crisis yet. trying to interpret that imf study was like trying to understand steven hawking talk blackholes.
Yeah, that’s academics for you
i invest only some strong pairs in the market . as usd, gbp,eur… jpyhave high change . i do not trade it
Yen movement is all about the economics of the US and Japan. If a Yen trader is able to demystify this, profiting from Yen trading will not be too hard to do.
