it certainly sounds like you are calculating it incorrectly
but, if we could actually see the image, it would be helpful
why don’t you just type in the information in the image and we’ll tell you what’s wrong
i suspect the instrument that your’e using calculates it differently
example, EURUSD 0.1 lots = $1 per pip
US2000 1.0 Lot = $1 Per pip (actually, when you convert it to my local currency AUD it’s like $1.30)
start by telling us what instrument you are using

ok so based on this
it was a SELL
lot size 0.10 which means $1 per pip
it ran from 2319 - 2278 which means = 41 pips profit
so 41 pips profit x $1 per pip = $41 profit
check with your broker regarding this currency to see in the trade specifications if they count 0.1 lots as 10 cents per pip
it’s certainly weird
but if it’s 10 cents per pip then you get $4.10 and i suppose 11 cents account for conversion to your local currency
or they have some ridiculous fee
have you asked your broker
I think the answer is a little more simple than that - Sell 0.10 does NOT say 0.10 Lots - I think it is the monetary value of the bet per pip !
41 x 0.10 = 4.10
[Edit - you say $4.21 profit - with the pipettes taken into account that looks more like $4.12 profit ? - unless you’re getting a payback as interest, which can happen - ? ]

My broker wasn’t really helpful its avatrade, all they said was I am doing spread betting and the calculations are different

I popped on, i was in 6th place
i’m currently in 2nd place… IT’S BEEN 3 hours approx (a little over)
I CAN SEE WHY IT’S A HEADACHE GETTING THROUGH TO AVA TRADE and my opinion thus far is… if they are this bad at support, WHY WOULD ANYONE USE THEM.

i called 16 times
and EVERY TIME, you get through, you get the machine… You Press 2 to speak to a customer support person
and after about a minute IT HANGS UP
i then went to the calculator and found this
so this clearly is not marrying up with what was told before
conclusion
this broker is bloody hopeless, they can’t even pick up the phone or answer chat
Now. i don’t care,
Even if they are the best and most honest broker, IF THEY CAN’T ANSWER SUPPORT… i wouldn’t touch them with a 20 foot pole

Don’t let the verbosity confuse you - just enter the actual amount you want to risk per pip - you wanna bet $1.0 per pip - enter 1.0 - simple as ;
Spreadbettng is simple like that - doesn’t go through all the convoluted “lot size” business, you just bet the amount per pip you want to risk.

I think yours is a cent account. Please check with your broker. Ask them or try to to find the type of account you are trading. In cents account .10 lot is actually .01 lot. I think in your case it’s .01 lot not .10 lot.

In spreadbetting, we simply bet against a bookie - the Pretence that there is a “Respectable” “Broker” acting as an intermediary is dropped and a more honest approach is adopted.
There is in practice no difference between the two, But a genuine bookie at least does not attempt to pretend there is.
If the bookie has an out of balance “Book” he can still access the real market and hedge there, just as a “broker - bookie” can and the rest of the time the “broker bookie” will take the other side of the bets, just like a proper bookie - ergo - no difference.
Oddly though, HMRC (tax-man) in UK taxes income from “Trading” - but not from “Betting” - why then would “broker bookies” disadvantage their punters by maintaining the pretence that there is ? 
I understand all that, My point however , simply Put, was. if they dont’ pick up the phone, i wouldn’t recommend dealing with them.
