Why people avoid to share information about trading?

Hi! I realized that because some unknown for me motive people do not to share their knowledge and strategies about trading… There are few sites that bring SOME information, on forums there are few people willing to respond, few good ebooks which are also incomplete… So I understand that my problem in fact is I don’t have from where to learn… :15:

So why people do not want to share this type of knowledge?

Well, most guys won’t share their strategies but they will be happy to teach you how to handle emotions.

Regards.

On the contrary, there are all sorts of people on this site sharing all sorts of aspects of their trading, including both their strategies and example setups. I think that that is one of the things that makes this site stand out.

I think that the issue is that often people come on the site as self-professed complete newcomers to Forex trading, and ask one generic question of just a couple of sentences covering all aspects of trading, and expect people to lay out an entire strategy from top to bottom. At which point the question asker often appears to want to ride off into the sunset and make their fortune. Many on here don’t answer such general questions as it is rather a question of ‘where do I begin’. I tend to answer with something along the lines of - do the Babypips school to get the basics, and pay particular attention to Support & Resistance and Price Action. The key issues with this, however, seem to be that it inevitably leads to ever-more-detailed questions, and in any case each trader’s style is different, so not everything works for everybody.

There is a lot of sharing on this site, one could learn to trade purely by studying this site and make money from it - but it takes time, it will be much more effective to spend a lot of time studying the various threads, participating in the discussions, demo trade alongside all of that, and over time building an understanding, while learning which questions to ask at each stage. Expecting it all in one hit won’t work.

Just my thoughts!

Probably because all the real skill in forex is based on experience and screen time, not someone telling you what to do. Like tennis, someone can tell you how to play a stroke and give advice, but to walk you through it, you need a coach, and no-one has the time to help you do that.

yes but why there is such a few information? or is this a secret too? :38:

The biographical info at the top of your post indicates that you have been here for at least 7 months. And you have posted on this forum 19 times.

How can it be that, in that time, you have not discovered the resources available here?

For basic education, the Babypips School — Forex Training Online: Learn Foreign Exchange (FX) Currency Trading — is just about the best source you will find anywhere.

As for traders who freely share their experience, have you looked at these threads —

The information you seek is out there, but nobody is going to spoon-feed it to you. You have to do some digging.

Why the obsession with secrets? I have a coach, costs me around £2000 a year and worth every penny. It takes a lot of time to coach someone, and as goldenmember says there is no one-hit wonder answer to all this, it takes serious time. Patience is one of the many traits of a successful Forex trader.

I don’t get the monkey face after your post, btw.

shhhhhhhhhhh,

97% are thinking the same thing,

Whats the secret?

TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK,

I have another question: How does it come that some leechers even complain if most of the information is all around and has just to be picked and filtered and used for the creation of an own trading style for own convenience?

It might be a secret …

I echo Clint and SimonTemplar. All the answers to being consistently successful are actually on this site. You just need to know what to soak in, retain and apply and what to filter out (eg posts from people who think they know it all). Put in the hours and hard work and you have a good chance of success.

Why dont you tell us exactly what information you are looking for and I am sure we have a thread on that.

Or is that a secret?

Yeah!!!

It takes time, and more time, and more time. The hours you put in, can set the barometer to when you may start to be CONSISTANT. But really, in the end, 99% comes down to the Mind.

The best system wont work for you, unless your mind is in the game.

And for some, this might take a year, or 2, or 5, Or Never…

There is a TON of Info on this site. And if you cant take the first step in finding the proper direction, your going to have a hard time trading.

YOU have to find it, Because YOU have to make the trades. No-one other then YOU, can help YOU.

If you spend enought time stareing at charts, and taking notes on what Happens, and when it happens, and WHY it happens, then you will most likely stumble onto to a system of your very own, that YOU can control and Operate at a FLUID LEVEL of competance…

This isnt a game. There is 4 TRILLION DOLLARS Worth of Liquid each and every day, and its cut throat, to be honest…

ANd, I want to add this. What did YOU do to have the luxury of having a Million Dollar system land on your lap?

NOTHING, so, what makes you think its going to be simply given to you, with a simple post?

For a person to sit here, and take your hand, and walk you thru everything, from start to finish, then set you free and inturn expect you to make a steady cash flow, is next to NONE.

IF you do actually start to really grasp the entire Forex concept, and have a money management plan, you could very well be making more then a Doctor in an operating room.

Now, look at that Picture. How many hours, and practice, and MONEY does it take to actually take that Doctor to finally step into the operating room, and prove his skills, and EARN his paycheck?

YEARSSSSSSSSSS, and THOUSANDS of Dollars, and LONG hours, with cat naps, missed meals, and decrease in social life.

In the end, No_one is going to hand you the blue prints to success, but if you prove your worth, to certain information, you may one day stumble onto a trader that MIGHT Give you an edge with information.

Remember, this isnt a game, this is a career. And its not something you just pull out of a box, and say " Humm, my money problems are over", because it dont work like that.

POP quiz,

What is a candle, and what are its main Varibles?

If it took you longer then 10 seconds to answer, your not ready for a system of any sorts.

Baby steps, how big the steps are, is dependent on YOU.

Your definitly in the right place to learn, listen to these guys.

Ive gotten flamed a good amount here in the past, but every time I got beaten over the head in a thread, I learned very valuable information in the process, and they were always right.

And, it wasnt even direct information, its was more like , " Hellllllllllloo, MCFLY, " More of a wake up and smell the coffee senerio…

Get digging, time is waisting

I know there are some who are like that, but on this site, there seems to be a wealth of information on trading strategies & etc.

You can do a search on Forex Strategies & pull up alot of information on it.

The secret is that there is NO secret…

I am been here in this forum for few months… and a lot of traders are willing to give away advice and show how they trade…

Just don’t expect that they do all the analysis for your trades…

All the information for trading is available on the Internet, you just need to figure out what is the best strategy for your personality

Looking back over your 19 posts & reviewing the information in the
replies I would say that you have been given enough information to
have learnt to trade profitably.

Also if you were to read through the threads which “Clint” has supplied
you would also increase your knowledge.

But there comes a point where pure information sharing stops & the
student then realises what has been said. In fact learns from the given info.

Or realises that they will probably never learn to trade profitably.

Well, trading is very secretive by nature. I do know for a fact there is “so called holy grail indicators” out there. Other traders are just not willing to share them. Do not get me wrong it’s nice and all to know the basics of trading but there are complex mathematical systems that consistently beat the market along with everybody else. Life is just not fair : )

I think there is tons of information on this site! I will randomly just start reading a thread and I always seem to find something that makes me think, wow I never thought of that.
I also at times used to think, people don’t tell me what i need to know…then i realized.YES they did, I just didn’t understand what they were telling me!! LOL
Seriously…you could have told me the same thing 3 months ago you’re going to tell me today. Three months ago i heard…blah blah.profit…blah blah. Now, I feel as if I’m beginning to understand some of the picture.
I think experience will show that the information was right there all the time.

At least…I hope I’m right…or I could be really messed up later on

In my experience in blogging about my trading, it takes a lot of time to share that information. Generally, that time is better spent backtesting or analyzing trading. There is a lot of free and affordable information out there though.

If you had a method, only you knew, after years of research, testing, and practising that made you $10 million annually, can I have it for free?

Thanks,
Clark

PS. 'nuff said.
