I’ve been reading through some of the older discussions but I realize that the market changes. I’m wondering if adding monitors to keep different charts open wouldn’t help me catch trends. I’m still working out the kinks with the indicators but jumping back and forth seems like I miss more opportunity than I get.
Any thoughts?

The markets are always moving. Dont feel like you’re missing out just because in hindsight you’ve seen a trend on a chart you were not looking at. Focus on what you can and just trade them. Consistently is the key, its quality not quantity. Become the master of a few, when you’re comfortable add another few. No need to rush and start trading everything. Follow your process and the opportunities will follow.

Its true - its more important to follow one reliable approach than chase after ten approaches that may or may not be as reliable.

One thing you will see very quickly when you watch forex charts intra-day in real time is that they all tend to get active simultaneously and all go quiet at the same time. This effect is all the more noticeable as you go to shorter and shorter time-frames. So its hard to miss a sudden dramatic price move, when it will probably print simultaneously on almost all of the charts you might have open.

this is one of the best pieces of advice i’ve seen in a while on here :joy:

Trading definitely requires a great deal of patience. It’s so easy to get caught up in this very thing, going through multiple approaches simultaneously rather than focusing on one or two, and being more in depth with your process and reviewing outcomes. i guess it’s that rat race to finding success that makes newbies try too many things.

@tommor after you said this I literally watched the market for a day and noticed it. they all jump around the same time frames and stall out together. That’s insane but explains why I missed trades spending too much time trying to watch to many charts.

Hey thought I’d come back for a update.
This site really is dope I’m glad there’s decent people out here willing to share information. I’ve been trading almost like a part time job now nothing really big but I’m happy to see progress from when I first posted on here…
To any new people that come across this don’t be afraid to ask questions but also there’s tons literally 1000s of previous chats. If you really want to learn do some digging you’ll most likely find your answer

Did you get a bigger monitor or another one? I think that’s what you asked the first time, but nobody answered that.

Lol no I didn’t get a different monitor.
I took @tommor advice and downsized the number and watched the trends.
Find 1 or 2 to really focus on.
I decided to keep a notebook. And it helped me alot.

You mean currency pairs or indicators? Sorry, I’m confused. By “monitor” I thought you meant the screen on your computer. Do you mean the action, to monitor or watch something? Haha, words are funny sometimes.

Monitor/screen :joy: it’s chill

Haha cool. I get it.
