TLDR: In your opinion; who on Youtube/social media can really be trusted?
Hello
I’m very new to all of this and I’m looking to learn as much as I can. I find sites like Babypips very informative and usually pretty good at breaking things down and make it understandable.
However, I feel like I would also learn a lot from watching someone trading live.
The problem is just that I really don’t trust the vast majority of the Youtubers I find. The problem is that they in general are selling something on the side, usually a course in daytrading.
Which is of course odd to me, why would they spend a lot time with making educational material if they are truly successful daytraders? Knowing that pretty much anything can be faked online I just can’t shake the feeling that it’s all, or mostly, BS.
My thinking is: am I watching someone who is actually a good daytrader or am I watching a salesman who’s a semi-good daytrader doing what he needs to do in order to scam me out of my money?
TLDR: In your opinion; who on Youtube/social media can really be trusted?
For sure, it is quite difficult to find reliable information in general and videos in particular. As it was mentioned above, in most of the cases such videos created for promotional purpose. To my mind, the best solution would be to search for some educational materials plublished by large financial companies (most of them have their Youtube channels). Of cours, there would be no trading secrets or strategies or something like that, but the could be very useful to improve knowledge about fundamentals to be able to understand the background processes related to the financial markets. That would be high qualitiy information provided by real market professionals and not the promotional videos of online marketers.
I can understand your concern. It is a very common concern for all the traders. Not an easy job to find someone who can be trusted blindly. You really need to research on the same just as I do most of the times. I have found good number of traders on social media and youtube.
Some of them whom I can really trust are:
Timothy Sykes - YouTube
Warrior Trading - YouTube
Chris Dunn - YouTube

The people who are related about Forex trading always emphasis on Forex Forum community than you tube.
Forums is useful than any others , only this is the trading place where traders can share his own experience and others reply.
I haven’t found anyone who I’d follow blindly accepting everything as “gospel”. As a lot of the experienced folks on the forum have said and is stated as such by many of the authors and youtubers is that a trading strategy/style is different for each person. Given that, I listen/read/watch a few online traders and consider what they say demo what strikes me and either incorporate it or move on.
Here are some of the sources I use.
