MEP ELECTIONS - BREXIT Party - Competent people who know how to do a deal

It was certainly a long while ago. You scored a “bull” with something you said a While back - They are now “Career Politicians” - all went to the same few universities, All studied the same type degree subjects - nice and “diverse” due to “Affirmative action” which to the best of my knowldege started with T Blair in hs “Women only shortlists” (1997)

Now I remember 1987 and listening to something on the Radio which said an MP was paid £16,500 per year - I was a junior professional at the time and I remember thinking "That’s the same as me !

THose were the days of real Politicians coming from real life - battle scarred and cynical. Highly Principled and fiercely democratic !

Then they put their wages up a bit !

Here’s a Daily Mail comparison from 2009 - £228,000 is what you or I would need to earn before reaching the same net income as one of them !

Now to be worth that sort of money in real life - you either have to be “Genius class” or “Public Service” - and a great many of them are in fact borderline “intellectually challenged” - Makes you wonder about the real validity of “Those degrees” and whether they actually sat them themselves ?

Now you know she’s worth £228,000 a year PLUS Whatever additional she gets for being “Cabinet” - is there any wonder they will say and /or do literally ANYTHING just to keep getting paid ?

I’m not sure I even like Churchill…

That’s surly blasphemy?!

The thing is, even a very active and radical PM like Thatcher (as opposed to Brown or Douglas-Home) might score points with their supporters but if they can’t carry the respect and belief of the country, can they truly be rated a successful PM?

Churchill was certainly a great man - great artist, author, conversationalist, wit and a pretty fair “P*ss head” too I believe ! 33 rd degree Freemason and all around “Good chap”. - Well worth a trip to his Exhibition Centre in London - fi you ever get over here 1

Thatcher did some good stuff but she also destroyed a lot of our manufacturing and mining industries - destroyed huge numbers of families lives.

She ended up hugely “!Euro-SCeptic” after initially being warm to the idea I believe.

She also single handedly started the “CO2 equals Global Warming” Industry by paying to Have “Research” done to prove that Coal “was bad” in her blind malicious war on the miner’s and their leader Athur Scargil ! By the time she realised the damage she had done and tried to “Call off the dogs” They had already “Gone Feral” and I think were already playing the “Science is proven” game of all voting in favour of each other’s stories and calling them “Peer- reviewed” !

It all depends on how you measure success, but certainly the metrics for this should be very few in number, universal and long-term.

Selecting the right one or ones is still contentious -
Average personal income? Educational attainment? Life expectancy? GDP? Peace? Population?

In October 2016 the University of Leeds, in conjunction with Woodnewton Associates, surveyed 82 academics specialising in post-1945 British history and politics, following the Brexit referendum. Due to the date range, Churchill’s oft-lauded war and caretaker ministries were not in contention and he was judged solely on his second premiership.

1 Clement Attlee 1945–1951 Labour
2 Margaret Thatcher 1979–1990 Conservative
3 Tony Blair 1997–2007 Labour
4 Harold Macmillan 1957–1963 Conservative
5 Harold Wilson 1964–1970, 1974–1976 Labour
6 John Major 1990–1997 Conservative
7 Sir Winston Churchill (1940–1945), 1951–1955 Conservative
8 James Callaghan 1976–1979 Labour
9 Edward Heath 1970–1974 Conservative
10 Gordon Brown 2007–2010 Labour
11 David Cameron 2010–2016 Conservative
12 Sir Alec Douglas-Home 1963–1964 Conservative
13 Sir Anthony Eden 1955–1957

That’s a surprise then ! Just like Michael Mann’s “Hockey stick graph” - ruling out the clear and decisive FACTS - for insipid “Intellectualism”

Churchill would have to be No.1 if the war leadership years are included, but it was hardly a comparable premiership situation.

Oh Dear !

400 metric tonnes at $275 an ounce !

“…Macron Collapsing as Marine Le Pen’s National Rally Surges in Polls!!!..”

It’s not only here in UK that we’re beginning to realise the undelying intention of this Dark, DARK Organisation and starting to take action against it !
.

Labour Launched their MEP Election campaign today :sunglasses:

JUst Jeremy Corbyn and his mum it seems, talking to a few journalists in a Library in Medway.

I feel quite sad for Jeremy - I’ve always believed him to be a principled and deicated man with a history of Euroscepticism. The sort of man perhaps, who, if he had not sold out his principles to the “Islington Labour” Careerists, could have been welcomed with open arms by the Brexit Party.

However, He and his mum are still there - making a fist of starting some sort of campaign. Reading his speech from a dummy board whilst the other rallies we have seen have had a lot of people speaking without any aids.

Apparently from one of the questions, the Conservatives have said they do not want any of their MEPs (should they happen to get one elected) to take their seats.

Jezzer looked a bit askance at the question - so I suspect a good healthy dose of pragmatic Capitalism there !

He says he is the only party which stands a chance against the “Poison of Farage”

As I said I always regarded him as a man of principle and conviction - shame he and his mum appear to be the only two left in his party

Interesting he was rabbitting on about “Global Warming” and “Species Diversity” and “Reaching out” to other “Progressives” and “workers groups” “across the world” and fair play to the woman who spoke about Children in poverty. in the uk. Sometimes methinks - “Charity should begin at home”

Obviously I want the Brexit Party to destroy both major parties at the General Election, but You are one of the few I shall feel sorry for mate !

Sadly for teh first time EVER - No Labour spkesman was available to answer Questions on BBC “Politics Live” !

And the Conservatives do not seem even to be writing a manifesto !

But then - neither is Brexit !

MArtin Daubney (Brexit) came over quite well but was a bit nerped about being called a “Village Idiot”

They ganged up on him towards the end and he didn’t seem to be well enough briefed to call them on it - Sad they wouldn’t have got away with that by Farage.

But hey Politics is Politics - He’ll learn !

I like what Melanie Phillips had to say " I think the Conservative Party has forgotten what it is that it ia suppose d to conserve" - It has been spooked by the cultural hegemoneity of the left so now we have teh Labour Party occupying what used to be called the Hard left and teh Conservatives occupying a sort ofmnushy ground which used to be the “Soft Left” ! "

More so love Melanie When she takes on the other 2 women by challenging Theresa Mays "Equality of outcome document! "

I suspected but didn’t KNOW May was "One of those " !

HMRC have written to us twice telling us the steps needed to take in order to continue to do business with the EU whenever the UK finally gets out.

You have to remember that currently doing business anywhere in the EU is very simple - invoice your client and get paid - it’s not even categorized as import/export when buying/selling - it’s dispatches and acquisitions - just list their value for intrastat.

Sea change post Brexit - extra software, import/export declarations in BOTH countries, customs agents, licences, duty, tariffs, commodity codes, account for vat ,country of origin.

The list goes on and on. Add to that HMRC have introduced MTD (make tax digital) from this month.

The consultants are making a killing with small business who think that these guys are knights in shining armour and have all the answers.

Speaking to a few GB traders who are big time ** off, NI guys are not so bad since we had to do it all in the old days and there are enough of us around to help the younger business.

Whatever happened to business friendly politicians

They disappeared after they joined us in the EU Regulatory system methinks !

I’ve thought for a good few years now that only “Big Business” is welcome in the UK - Every small businees gets so drowned in regulations they cannot function properly !

My CSCS Card is about to expire so I need to jump thrugh a load of hoops and PAY of course to get it renewed !

WTF ? we say - “Its Elf an Safety” comes the knowing reply ! Pay ere and lets take your picture - come back in 5 years and take another test.

How come I can do business with a geezer in China Without any of this clat ?

That all looks as thor’ it should be fairly simple, if repetitive - Bright lad for a few days to work it out - then just “clerical” - Spreadsheet with some “VLookup” tables to help relating the stuff together maybe ?

Depending on how complex and how many different items, perhaps an old “Access style” Database to even print the forms either paper or “to file” ?

Where do I get an application form ?

Yeh I know a couple of old tradesmen who are “going off grid” due to that one ! - but that’s uk public servant uselessness rather than EU stuff isn’t it ?

Nah, far from it - the Gov guidance suggests employing ‘professionals’ to do it.

The MTD is a UK brainwave, First vat this month, then tax later.

The ultimate aim is to be able to interrogate a taxpayers accounts without the need for an audit -saves money.

The larger businesses don’t really care (they don’t pay any tax anyhow), an extra few thousand on the software is no big deal, I know one lady just forked out £1400 for the vat mtd software - I’m doing my own, but it’s hassle that could be done without - imagine a plumber starting up, no such thing as diy tax anymore.

I guess that depends what your “Base trade” is ! -

Aye - the theory is that exporting is ‘easier’, i.e. customs checks are lighter, although the bureaucracy is tight both ways - one wrong digit in a sheaf of documents and back you go.

The Gov have said that they will adopt a ‘light touch’ on imports - hope they get the message through to the guys on the ground - an importer told me recently that he wouldn’t ring customs to ask when he could expect clearance of his containers, “last time I did that they put me back a week”.

Guy Verhofstadt (EU Top Dog) - comes over to England to put the weight of the EU behind the "Remain andgo vote again so you can get it right ! - LIBDEMs

Please see how businesslike their impressive gathering was :sunglasses:

It only lasts 1 minute and 6 seconds - don’t worry about the “Foreign language” - the proof of teh pudding comes when the y have their panoramic photo shoot at the end !

Sadly “Our Nigel” in Lincoln today had no such “help” from the Gods of Authoritarianism - he and his little band of supporters had to struggle by on their own - just as they do 3 or 4 times EVERY Week !

And racing car enthusiast - apologies for the sometimes bad language, it’s a view from the other side:
