Need computer help about rouge viruses I think are comming from this site

This month I have removed 3 rouge viruses off my computer from viewing this site. I was going to use another computer to view this site but it is to slow and I am going to have to go buy a new one. To me I am not sure its worth it to buy a computer to help people how are infecting with these pain in the ass viruses. This last one was called live security platinum. Took me about an hour to get rid of it but this time after getting the virus to stop its BS so I could get malwarebytes to remove it all my trading platforms are gone. This tells me those were targeted since they are the only ones missing. I dont know much about rouge viruses except how to get rid of them. How is this possible. I run avast, malware bytes, auss logics, glary utilities, and spy bot search and destroy. How are these things getting to my computer so easily I didnt even download anything. I can reload my trading programs but I dont think I will do it on here. I will go buy a new computer to do this but to the person doing this crap if you are on here. Good job care to try again. I just fired my it guy and will have a new one soon.

What’s your main anti-virus program? I see a bunch of the freeware stuff above but are you running a professional program that handles your anti-virus, firewall, etc.?

wow… i just stumbled on this by accident lol. This **** happened like yesterday to me. i was complaining in skype group about this ****ty virus just a couple of hours ago!!! tafuq!!! exactly - live security platinum! it “scaned” and showed i have infected pc and offered me to buy a platinum antivirus. damn it! it really means this comes from this site…

but that was my first one. i believe whoever this guy is i will get more from now on lol  why are you buying a new pc again?

Both avast and malware bytes are pro editions. Or at least thats what my IT guy that put this stuff on my computer said. Auss logics was just to help with speed along with cclearner. Glary utilities was more to give him a log that he said was the most helpful to him as far as what was going on. But if I cant get ahold of him then the hell with him. I run windows 7 ultimate. I am just trying to figure out how this is happening.

Hope you got rid of it and not pay. I figured out to get that for free to lay it dormant while I terminated its sorry ass. 3 times in a month all from trolling here here pretty extreme even for free anti viruses. Especially when I did not download a damn thing

I have almost the same security software as yours… maybe you have a rootkit in your HD, better to wipe it out or get a new one and do fresh installs.

My security setup: up-to-date windows, windows firewall, avast! free (all shields on), malwarebytes antimalware(paid), Prevx Safeonline free, Norton ConnectSafe for Home, EMET.

Those things are dialers. They are also hijackers. I have never gotten one of those from here though.

Let me tell you a little trick to keep them from installing, should one pop up again.

When the screen pops up that tells you you now have malware, and it’s obviously not authentic Windows, Microsoft, or your known anti virus software, don’t touch ANYTHING on their screen. It’s all toxic. Even the close button.

Instead, hit Ctrl, Alt, Del all at the same time. That will give you a shortcut to open up Windows task manager.

The first tab is “Applications”. In the apps tab, highlight your browser, and at the bottom, choose the “end task” option. It closes all the open windows in your browser, without using anything the scam software provides. And usually, their app is in your browser. If in doubt, just close everything in that window.

Give it a minute or two, then reboot your browser, and if it gives you the option, choose “Start New Session”. That should get you out of the situation without their crap installing on your computer.

And a word to the wise. I’ve come across those programs in mundane places like Google Images. I’ve had them pop up on everything from pics of the Eiffel tower, to beach pics of Tahiti. The most innocuous of pics are tags for those kinds of programs. It took me three hours to fix a family member’s computer after her daughter got a NASTY one from looking at SpongeBob Squarepants pics. Kids don’t know, they just hit the close button.

Most of those vundo hijackers originate in Russia. Infectious bastards!!!

Yunny are you refering to do the same as I did to my old apple ibook. I filled that thing full of lead just for pissing me off. I will gladly do the same to this. As that is a sure fire way to rid yourself of the virus. I might look into it because since ridding mmyself of this virus my avast is going crazy. Something about windows/system32/services. This is I have a 64 but operating system. I dont know I only know how to turn these things on or shoot them.

Actually MT you might be spot on I do the same just close out then wham I am screwed.

I hope someone here can help I am going to send an email to these anti virus programs I paid for and try to find an it gut but my pop ups are going crazy here are what it says

Process: windows/system32/services.exe
Infection: Win32:malware-gen

Again the next one says
Process: windows/system32/services.exe
Infection: malware-gen

next is
Process:windows/system32/services.exe
Infection:URL-MAL

There is another one but it has not poped back up and I mean these are popping up like non stop. So I am thinking this computer is shutting down. I will check on this on my other computer that is way to slow or from work. I quoted a new lap top from allenware will see what comes of it. If that dont pan out I am taking yunny’s advise and breaking the AK out for target practice. Sucks though if I do this trading is frozen unless from my phone but I still dont like that yet. Sorry everyone but looks like I might be out for a few days. Till I get another IT guy, Fix this thing, Or another one (which I am kinda sold on)

Bob, I think with Avast! PRO you are entitle to a remote cleaning session… so may be they can help you get rid of those viruses

Now that I am thinking about it I think you right I shut it off but thats why there is a power button lol. Time to hunt someone down :). Even if its not free as long as it goes bye bye I am happy. I may have killed the virus but pieces of it must still be there. Computer is running fine but the avast pop up is non stop say this was blocked

Pardon me for saying it, but I hate Avast. If it’s telling you a system process 32 is malware, Avast is the problem.

Unistall that crap, and install Microsoft Security Essentials. It’s free, and works better than anything else I’ve ever used. I’ve used McAffee, Norton, Avast, AVG, Panda, and Kaspersky. (And all the paid versions) It takes up very little processor power, and works really smoothly.

I hate to sound like a Microsoft poster child, because I’m not. They’ve done some bonehead things over the years, this one ain’t.

Try it out, just make sure you uninstall Avast first.

Might try that right now I tried yunny’s advise and I am currently watching my cursor flipping all over the place. He was correct and they are on it lol. We will see what turns up if not MT your thought is next but I paid for this so we will see but I think all is okay. My problem is how to stop this and thats what they are looking into. They said themselves I should not have this issue. If I still do I might just use that POS for target practice. My next one we will see and to the guy that infected me when is said care to try again it was not a challenge lol (even though it sounded like it)

I’ve been monkeying with computers for a long time. Never formally trained, just more a hobby. I’ve got a 10 year old computer that I use for a home recording studio that I’ve completely replaced every part on over the years, but it runs like a champ. When something happens like you are describing, there are several potential issues, with the biggest being registry errors.

When you get things like bad shutdowns, or a series of freezes, it causes registry confusion that builds up. You shouldn’t need to buy a new computer. They are fairly easy to maintain, and keep in top shape, it’s just knowing what to do in what order is the key.

Wait a second you got a computer for recording. I needed to ask this a long time ago. I am a drummer and been looking to record this lap top had a decent sound card but the delay sucked. Was not bad but made a difference. You got anything on that? As far as the lap top you are spot on the last time I messed with registry keys it didnt work out so well. Thats why I hired a guy to come in and do all my computers. He was great for a while but has since dropped off the map. Avast could not help they hooked the computer up quite a bit but the avast pop ups remain. Not as bad but still there. They kinda in a round about way told me it is avast. I will try again with my broker as they fixed my machine before. This time it whiped there programs off my computer and I am sure they have something to handle that. They need to get paid and will make it happen if there stuff got whiped (we all know how they want there spread lol) and they also know it dont matter to me what I run for anti virus I just want it fixed. This computer I am on now will work but it sucks at best. Its old but been good to me. I will get another lap top any way as mine stays on all the time and has got so hot it cracked a TV tray (one of the ones you pull up to eat dinner at the sofa). Thats a lot of heat to crack wood but its an HP and they do run hot but thats really hot. So I have no issue replacing it, but if you know hardware and recording please help a newb out on that aspect. I am not a newb on drums but recording yeah I am a newb. Money is not a problem as long as it is not out of this world.

Not a big fan of HP laptops here, because, yes, they DO run hot.

My folks keep buying them. Can’t talk them out of it. I like Acers, and Lenovos personally. I primarily use a little Acer Aspire One netbook for just about everything. It’s fast, packs nice, runs spectacularly, and has GREAT battery time.

My recording comp is an old Gateway tower. I use an M-Audio Delta 1010 PCI soundcard in it. For recording drums, how many mics would you want to run? Snare/hat, and kick, with some other ones placed around to catch toms, and cymbals?

That’s important to know to give you advice on a good card, or interface. And what DAW do you use? I use Sonar for all my recording and mixing.

PM me. Maybe I can help you get your computer running a bit better.

Cheers!

I’m my own anti-virus, and I think it’s the best. Lol

I got the “Live Security Platinum” virus today too when I opened an email from babypips.com. I can’t be sure that is what caused it, that is just what I happened to be doing on the computer at the time the funny warning box came up.

After doing a little detective work, I found it had installed itself on c:\programdata in a folder called 036DF85000. Just a generic hexadecimal name. It blocked me from deleting the folder and the .exe file it contained (the one creating all the havoc), but I found that I could rename it and once I did that, it ceased to function. Rebooted and everything back to normal.

However, my antivirus software didn’t detect it. I had to do it myself.

Run msconfig and see and untick any program you don’t recognise in the start up sections, then run anti-virus, I’ve run Free AVG for years, it’s always been the one I find works best.

But the problem you might have is that while the virus is running the AV can’t get rid of it, so if you can identity it and stop it running on startup, you’ve got a better chance of success.

Oh and bob, come on admit it, you’ve not had the virus of BP ,you’ve been watching those naughty sites again haven’t you ( I only do that on my Linux machine ;)) ???
