I stand corrected - I chose the word “Changed” - whereas you correctly identified his stance was the same but perhaps a little angrier - so thank you for pointing that out :sunglasses:

Well the left is the left and unless you want to call it something else it is the topic of this thread.

If you like we can refer to it as Marxism or Socialism or perhaps wonderful kind loving dreamers.

Yep - i see you have to pre-order - you’ll have to wait until March 2021 - not really that long I suppose.

Would this apply to the people who only post hate about President Trump , they will become that hate

Yep I’m excited to get it.

It’s certainly not a book for everyone. Most people cannot understand his thinking. We have a show in Australia call QandA and it is an ABC production. He appeared on that show under the false assumption that he was going to talk about his first book, “Twelve Rules for Life.” Instead they tried to ambush him with stupid questions from stupid people. He destroyed them all and the next day was scathing on the treatment he received on the show.

If I get an opportunity I will post a link to the show. It was brilliant.

If hate is in a person’s heart then they are already that hate - regardless of whom or what the hate is felt towards.

Why would a person hate their enemy - what good does that do?

I got to attend one of Peterson’s talks a couple years ago, Dave Rubin was the host, it was great, I never thought I would pay money to hear someone talk above my head for 2 hours but it was great

Well if you are not going to tell me and your obvious lack of understanding of Americans one would have to assume some country other than the US

I don’t play games about where I live as I have said Florida many times

If you study the work of Carl Jung you would have your answer, it is called Projection where people project their own deep dark thoughts onto others , the people you don’t like us calling Left are inflicted with it

I have to say it was superb to hear an amazingly proficient wordsmith in operation - I am always in awe of fast-thinkers who can articulate like that under pressure.

I also thought Alex Hawke and Catherine McGreggor did rather well in expressing their views in a balanced and thoughtful way. The two “Shouty Women” I was far less impressed with, both from their answers and the apparent intelligence (Lack of) which they exhibited in their replies and I felt the overall balance of the panel - demonstrated the situation we have got to now - Where many iterations of “compromise” over theh years and decades have brought us to the stage where those with modest and thoughtful views have simply been accepting of so much “compromise for the sake of peace and quiet” that those two products of “Affirmative action” were actually invited to appear on the same stage as the other three as though by some stretch of someone’s imagination they were “Equal”

I watched a snip of another panel show where Peterson was on the same panel as our very own epitome of ridiculous Affirmative action - one Diane Abbot ! - I don’t really remember the debate - but in the comments section someone had written ;

"Putting Diane Abbot up against Jordan Peterson - is like trying to put out the Sun with a potato !"

I neither like or dislike the labels you guys attach - that’s your choice and who am I to judge the choice of others.

I’ve no intention of studying Jung or his mentor - then again that’s my choice.

Attempting to change others from being left or right or whatever is an age old human trait - how can we change someone to become more a reflection of ourselves.

Thus love your enemy is the opposite - don’t try to change my enemy, instead attempt to change myself - and yes that’s challenging.

We are in agreement, as with my example of is the Glass Half Full or Half Empty, people are going to see the world differently, And I have no illusions of turning a Half Empty person into a Half Full. This does not mean we cannot have a healthy political debate, and when someone takes the position of 2+2=7 then they should expect some pushback and be prepared to explain how they came to that conclusion.

Sorry that you have chosen to not at least familiarize yourself with Jung’s work,

If you should change your mind here is an excellent 11-minute video examining what Jung called the Shadow

Aye, actually I said that I have no intention to ‘study’ Jung’s work mainly because I disagree with some of his analysis.

I tend to take a more simplistic approach .

I once attended a talk by a very learned theologian, the talk was concerning the authorship of the 4th Gospel by John.

Some theologians contend that John, the young brother of James was not the author - the basis of argument was that these guys were all illiterate fishermen who couldn’t possibly write a book.

If you would like a more entertaining sample of Jung’s work I would suggest the Syfy classic Forbidden Planet, Walter Pidgeon plays Morbius who discovers alien technology that amplifies his subconscious into a murderous monster, today we just call that Social Media

Well that is plan idiotic, as there would have been plenty of followers who could have recorded what James and John said and wrote it as first-person, Some people spend their whole lives trying to discredit the Bible and the Bible is still standing and I believe more relevant than ever

The learned person had more theories regarding authorship of the book, but he missed the simple.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with His finger.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

So Jesus could read and write - a mere carpenter - someone had to teach him - who?

Not likely to be the hard working Joseph, the breadwinner, so who else - His mother.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!. Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

John wrote his book when he was old, long after he had taken Mary to his home - plenty of time to be taught how to read and write.

Too simple answer maybe.
