Political Opinion

Oh boy, a lot to laugh about the comments in this thread. Sorry, just being honest.

O(h)bama a good heart? I guess all the big dollars and war machines and wars and world wars came out of a good heart of all the presidents then. Itā€™s like the following tale: As trader, trust in the good hearts of other traders, who shake your hand and send you the big money some have.

O(h)bama IS sinister. I canā€™t see any other president so far who did so much harm to the people of America. His work of harm will continue to hurt for a long time. Even after he was kicked out of office. What I hope the American citizen will do this year. If not, they elected their own misery again!

Governments should do what gouvernments are there for:

 • Legislative
 • Executive
 • Judiciary

Nobody said they should start becoming corrupt while doing insurance business, injecting taxpayers money into banks and companies they decide, hiring exhausting amounts of bureaucrats, etc. etc. But exactly that is Ohbama doing! Iā€™m not saying every president other than Ohbama was perfect so far, but Ohbama is the worst of the worst and this is no coincidence! Exactly as his attitude and misfortunes are no coincidence:

Obamaā€™s Polish gaffe not his first presidential slip-up | World | News | Toronto Sun

What a Polish foreign minister said is exactly true: Obama is an ignorant and incompetent president - at itā€™s best. He follows his own agenda and this agenda has nothing to do with supporting the people of America. Vote him out of office or the serious damage will grow! This government is already out of control. The rotten fish starts smelling from itā€™s head and itā€™s smelling strong already!

Polish Foreign Minister Calls Obama Mistake a Matter of ā€œIgnorance and Incompetenceā€

lol You put this in past tense. My friend I like the way you think.

Lol. Yes, I try to think forward. And, this or in 4 years at last he will be kicked out. Or in my timeline, he was kicked out, lol. Just a matter of time till he becomes the past. I hope tho itā€™s in a few months. My fellow Americans, give him the boot! He deserves it. He is begging for it since 4 years.

Regarding the discussion a bit earlier about Romney or Paul, I would also vote for Paul. Why? Itā€™s NOT a lost vote. Because that vote is a vote against Ohbama as well! Plus then I have enough experience with voting systems where people elect always the smaller evil. Itā€™s evil anyways and it will get worse every election. My suggestion is: Vote for the president with the most libertarian agenda, regardless of the chances of he being elected. This government is already way TOO FAT. A light government supporting the people is what should be. Not the people robbed by a fat bureaucracy. A passport fee is currently already ~ 140 bucks. 140 bucks for just a paper to get the right to travel abroad. Too much already! Thatā€™s not because of inflation. Thatā€™s because the government can as monopoly rob the people. And, thatā€™s just a passport. Look at the other fees, taxes, etc. As traders we also face a lot of nonsense regulations. So again: Vote for the guy with the lightest government agenda. If you want your rights as free man and woman on Earth back. Many rights have been stolen already from you! Piece by piece. The pieces might be small, but all together itā€™s becoming a huge problem!

Anyways, if you donā€™t want a second Oligarchy aside of Russia, vote AGAINST Ohbama! Take care my friends!

There, you see? A Swedish socialist and an American conservative can get along! ā€” Sort of.

(Itā€™s the Kenyan socialist who is screwing everything up for us here in the U.S.!)

Hope and Change has degenerated into Hoping to Change the Subject.

Forward is rapidly turning into Backward.

And now the Obama Regime is scrambling to come up with a new slogan.

Theyā€™re still trying to figure out the wording, but the message will be that tired, old clichĆ©:

ā€œDonā€™t Change Horses in the Middle of the Stream.ā€

Apparently, the ā€œhorseā€ is Obama, and the ā€œmiddle of the streamā€ is our current economic mess.

Yeah, well, most Americans see it differently.

The way we see itā€¦

Weā€™re in the middle of the stream, on a broken-down horse.

Weā€™re in deep trouble, and we have two choices:

We can drown right here, along with the horse weā€™re on.

Or, we can change horses ā€” Right here ā€” In the middle of the stream.

Itā€™s time to change direction.

Itā€™s time to change presidents.

and Osama care was just passed through as a tax. Now I got to know what happens to me that actually works and pays for my own health insurance. Why am I paying a tax for service I will not use. Oh wait thats right I forgot thats what the government has become.

Iā€™m not surprised at all. Just because the Supreme court rules something as constitutional doesnā€™t mean it isā€¦ Look at all the New Deal garbage that they held up under FDR. Article 1 Section 8 lists the powers that congress has to ā€œPromote the General Welfareā€. I donā€™t see where it says congress can mandate health insuranceā€¦ Iā€™m still trying to find out where Medicaid and Medicare are in the Constitution or Social Security for that matter. But whateverā€¦ We will continue down the same road. The government and politicians push for radical new things that are not even authorizedā€¦ The people get angry. The governmentā€™s crony courts uphold their lousy legislation and then the people calm downā€¦ Iā€™m still waiting for the Republicans to throw out the Department of Educationā€¦

Itā€™s a shame that I get so excited when the Supreme Court actually defends the Constitutionā€¦ It is the norm for them to ignore it now.

What are Americans supposed to do when the government constantly oversteps its contract and then declares that it is within the terms of the contract when the Kangaroo Court rules everything constitutional?

Hopefully this will hurt Obamaā€¦ Especially since half of his healthcare argument was based on the fallacy that it was not a taxā€¦ While the supreme court just defended it because it is somehow a ā€œconstitutionalā€ tax.

I wish the politicians actually read the terms and agreements of their jobsā€¦ The Constitution.

The Decision

Constitutional ā€” Roberts, Breyer, Ginsberg, Kagan, Sotomayor

Unconstitutional ā€” Alito, Kennedy, Scalia, Thomas

Chief Justice
John Pelosi Roberts

We have to approve the ObamaCare law
so we can find out whatā€™s in the law.

With ā€œconservativesā€ like Roberts,
who needs liberals?

What osama forgot about is JOBS. Now even part time employees will have to receive insurance from there employers. It will now be required by law. Well whats not required by law is there job in the first place. I see unemployment going up up and away in the very near future.

Unfortunately, I donā€™t see an advantage to changing.

In the midst of all the hysterics by partisan politics, is the fact that the line between liberals, and conservatives has become blurred. The public thinks there is a difference. I might remind you that Obamacare was derived heavily from Romneycare.

Itā€™s a joke to think there will be any difference if a ā€œconservativeā€ wins the white house this November. The same big grinding corporate wheels guide anyone in that position to make decisions that cross the liberal/conservative boundaries.

Hereā€™s a VERY interesting commentary that I came across this morning. Itā€™s a sad state of affairs that this country has fallen into.

Americans Are Being Prepared For Full Spectrum Tyranny

And take a good look at the picture that pops up there. Itā€™s possibly the most eloquent bit of irony Iā€™ve ever seen.

Thanks for that link, Jay. Chilling stuff.

I wish I could say that itā€™s preposterous fear-mongering ā€” but, unfortunately, itā€™s exactly where I think we are headed.

Liberty Ave, eh? ā€” Ironic, indeed.

Here is an interesting article. Its a slightly different twist to what I have been thinking about Roberts. Opinions?Erick Erickson: Roberts forces us to deal with health care politically

That is an interesting article, pipmart. Hereā€™s my opinion ā€”

The Erick Erickson article lists a number of ā€œadvantagesā€ handed to the Republican Party and to Mitt Romney by todayā€™s Supreme Court decision. And the article credits Chief Justice John Roberts with the brains and the guts to engineer this ultimate, future victory for the Republicans, by playing what amounts to a chess game with Obama. If Ericksonā€™s analysis is correct, then this Supreme Court decision was a brilliant piece of political gamesmanship.

The only problem is that itā€™s not the job of the Supreme Court to play political games. The Supreme Courtā€™s job is not simple, but it can be stated simply: to decide cases according to the Constitution of the United States.

To continue with Ericksonā€™s chess analogy, Roberts may have laid an elaborate trap which ultimately will checkmate Obama; but, in order to do it, he had to sacrifice the Constitution, as if it were merely one of his pawns.

Playing fast and loose with the Constitution, in order to accomplish a personal goal, is the sort of misbehavior we expect from Obama. We have a right to expect much better behavior from the Chief Justice of the United States.

Very well said. I am extremely tired of Obama walking all over the Constitution. I was hoping that Roberts would just call it for what it is. Obviously that didnā€™t happen.

So the day is done and what do we have? A smashed Constitution and as the media would have you believe, a huge victory for Obama.

I think we are actually in better shape then I first thoughtā€¦
Itā€™s easy to repeal a tax and politicians will think twice about fighting for it becuase they keep thinking about re-election and how much their constituents wouldnā€™t like another tax put on them . . .

Do you really think any of the democrats up for re-election will vote for more taxes? I think Roberts did that so once its repealed, no one will try to pass it again in the future. Had he just declared it constitutional without the tax bit, then it would be really bad. If he would have killed Obama care by deeming it non Constitutional then the Democrats would just point fingers all the way to election day. They would be screaming and crying all about how republicans are keeping good things from happening for America.

In other newsā€¦ we had a very positive day

House votes to hold Attorney General Holder in contempt of Congress | Fox News

NEVER thought Iā€™d have something in common with Mr. Holderā€¦ I have a lot of contempt for congress too:D

June 28th 2012, a day that will live infamy.

Obamacare is STILL unconstitutional on so many levels and what Roberts did is pure fraud, regardless of if it helps the Republicans or notā€¦

Here are a few reasons it is unconstitutional.

According to Article 1, Section 7, Clause 1 of the Constitution, ā€œAll Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Billsā€.

It passed the Senate on December 24, 2009 and then passed the House on March 21, 2010ā€¦ The ā€œtaxā€ portion of this bill originated in the senate, not the houseā€¦ Obviously that is a violation of Article 1 Ā§ 7 clause 1.

The one thing I agree with the Liberals on is the fact that it is not a taxā€¦ The fine for not buying health insurance is not a tax, itā€™s a penalty. And even if it is a tax, itā€™s unconstitutional anyway, as itā€™s a direct tax that must be apportioned. The Supreme Court is wrong twice.

I have a funny feeling that this law was crafted to failā€¦ It obviously wonā€™t work, because within the law, the fine for not getting health insurance is not enforceableā€¦ It is totally reliant on good faith. Now supposedly this fine was to either cover you if you do get sick or to make you buy insurance to avoid the fineā€¦ Either way itā€™s doomed to fail. People wonā€™t pay it so who is going to pick up the tab for the uninsured?.. Ben Bernanke and China obviouslyā€¦ and then the American taxpayer.

The worst part of this bill is the fact that you can buy insurance after you get sickā€¦ This is going to drive insurance through the roof and nobody will be able to afford it. This defeats the whole purpose of Insuranceā€¦ Insurance is to cover you if something occurs, not after the fact.

I guess the Liberals are hoping that people will call on the government to provide a single payer system for everybody because the ā€œfree marketā€ failed to provide cheap insuranceā€¦ Even though it was government involvement that has raised insurance prices, like college tuitions and everything else they put there dirty hands on.

This ruling also opened up the door on the governments ability to regulate behaviorā€¦ It basically says that now the government can tax you if you refuse to comply with something. They cite cigarette taxes and alcohol taxes as examples of taxes that are used to control behaviorā€¦ Wrong. If the government could legally do that, why would they have wasted time amending the constitution for Prohibition? Alcohol taxes are excise taxes that are for generating revenue, not regulating behaviorā€¦

But the government will never tax the hell out of people until they complyā€¦ Surley notā€¦ Oh wait.

The camelā€™s nose is officially through the door.

How can people be such dolts and how can Justice Roberts sleep at night after screwing Americans TWICE in one week. What a mess.

Editā€¦ Upon further research I have come across a few sources that say it doesnā€™t violate Article 1 Section 7 because the senate took a veterans bill from the house, stripped it clean and put in the healthcare billā€¦ If that stands it shows just how disgusting and conspiring the people we have in Washington are. In my opinion that should still be against article 1 section 7 but God knows the government could care less if it is Constitutional or not.

The thing I donā€™t get about ā€œreforming health careā€, is the fact that health care hasnā€™t ever been the issue. The COST of healthcare has always been the issue. so, they arenā€™t trying to reform ā€œhealthcareā€, they are trying to reform the way itā€™s paid for.

Which brings me to my next pet peeve. Iā€™m not overweight, Iā€™m in good shape, couldnā€™t run a marathon, but I donā€™t get winded taking the dog for a walk. I donā€™t have heart issues, I donā€™t have diabetes, and my cholesterol level is fine.

Most of the costs of healthcare are caused by overweight, diabetic heart patients, that smoke two packs a day, and think nothing of a triple stacked Wendyā€™s cheeseburger for breakfast, lunch and two for dinner. Why should I, or anyone else be subjected to the costs of their extremely poor choice of living?

I am seriously contemplating the ā€œex-patriotā€ route. This place is seriously flawed.

Just think about all the times the government has tried to make things more affordable and more availableā€¦

Housing, Collegeā€¦ and now healthcare?

Now everybody is asking why health insurance prices have been risingā€¦ Think of Insurance like A pizza and the coverageā€™s as toppings. What is going to happen to the price of the pizza when the Government mandates you have to have 70 toppings, many of which you donā€™t like and donā€™t plan on using. Why should the government force insurance to cover me for substance abuse and hysterectomies? Iā€™ve never taken a drug in my life, and I donā€™t have a uterus. Thatā€™s just a few of the ones I will never use.

That is just one of the reasons why insurance has been steadily rising. But itā€™s going to start going through the roof nowā€¦ Why?

Letā€™s pretend that a house is your health insurance policy. What did the government do to housing? They tried to make it more affordable and available. They lowered the requirements necessary to get a loan for a home. Bad credit could be equated to preexisting conditions. So people who were clearly unfit for cheaper loans were able to get them, now could. This jacked up the demand for housing because more people, who wouldnā€™t have normally purchased a house, flooded the housing market increasing the prices for all homesā€¦ Much like the steady stream of Obese, Diabetic, Twinkie stuffing, smokers that will now be able to get better insurance policies, at the expense of everybody else.

Look at collegeā€¦ The government wanted more people to go to college, who otherwise would not have. They throw out loans to practically anybody that wants to go. Now almost everybody is going to college with student loans. Since colleges know that more people will be going to college, and the expense is not a problem because everybody can get government loans, they can easily jack up prices even moreā€¦ Whatā€™s the governmentā€™s solution to make it more affordable? Maintain low interest rates, which make even more people go, continuing the massive costsā€¦

Imagine if it was much harder to get a loan for college. Would the colleges be able to charge such inflated prices if they knew that most people could only pay in cash because they couldnā€™t get a loan? No, prices would crash. You used to be able to pay your way through college by working a Summer Jobā€¦ Good luck with that.

Everything that the government touches turns into garbage

Tang, youā€™re evil ā€” but, I love you anyway, bro.

This is the only point in your post that I disagree with.

Obama has authorized the hiring of an additional 16,000 IRS agents to handle the enforcement of:

Buy insurance or pay the Roberts tax.

ā€” thatā€™s 320 new IRS Brown Shirts per state.

The rest of your excellent rant is spot on. (I use the word ā€œrantā€ in its noblest sense!)

My thoughts, exactly.

Any U.S. citizen who does not have a passport should rectify that situation immediately.

If youā€™re a U.S. citizen with a valid Canadian or EU passport, thatā€™s better than no passport ā€” but, seriously consider spending the $140 (or whatever it costs now) to get a U.S. passport.

Without a passport, you canā€™t even visit Canada, without shoveling through a ton of government bullsh!t.

Attention ā€” Obama, Supreme Court, and IRS Brown Shirts:

I am self-insured.
I purchase insurance from myself, and I never miss a payment.
So, I will not be buying any ObamaCare.
And I will not be paying any Roberts tax/penalty/whatever.
Donā€™t even waste your time trying to bill me.
