Political Opinion

This is why you cannot believe any information on the Ukraine Russia dispute coming from the United States Government or their lacky mainstream media who publish what they are told to publish…

Ukraine is winning, Ukraine is making ground, Ukraine is losing less combatant’s than Russia… Yada, Yada, Yada… Even allowing for the FOG of War

It’s all Properganderous Bullsh!te!! Even sounds like a Sales Pitch

The biggest fear of the Biden Administration is losing the hearts and minds of the US Citizens… The very citizens who’s Taxes are being used to fund the continuation of this skirmish…

If the tide turns and the US voters wake up… And realize that the Ukraine is losing or in a stalemate with the Russians at best… The weight of public opinion will be against the US Government suppling Billions in weaponry, in training, in technology…

US Taxes blatantly wasted on a nation that is going to lose…

Same applies to the US’s allies like Britain, Australia and the EU, all sending Millions of dollars in equipment and aid in solidarity with an inept, belligerent and more than likely corrupt United States Government…

Nothing will change while members of Congress are continuing to profit off Russia’s war with Ukraine… And now the UK (NATO) is putting boots on the ground in the Ukraine

What could possibly go wrong…??

There is conflict on aid to Ukraine

Haley rails against lack of Ukraine aid in spending bill, pushes for spending cuts in other areas.

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley railed against the lack of Ukraine aid in Congress’s “clean” stopgap measure brought to the House floor a day earlier and called for spending cuts in other areas.

Acknowledging the nation’s debt, Haley, a former United Nations ambassador, also took a jab at her own party’s spending choices.

“We’re $33 trillion in debt, we’re having to borrow money just to make our interest payments, China owns some of that debt,” Haley said. “But … if you’re going to look at that, why don’t we look at the fact that why … Republicans put in $7.4 billion of pet projects and earmarks in the budget and Democrats put in $2.8 billion? Why don’t we look at all the things we don’t need to spend on?”

Haley has maintained a push for continued funding for the war-torn country throughout her presidential campaign, repeatedly claiming a win for Russia is a win for China.

“The fact that this is actually going to prevent war, the fact that this is only 3.5 percent of our national budget, that 3.5 percent of our national defense budget,” Haley said. “The fact that … this goes back to 11 European countries who are spending more than us. But what is this going to? It’s going to weapons, it’s going to replenish our stockpile. It’s going to make sure Ukraine has what they need. And it’s going to make sure that if they win, this is not another win for Russia or China, but it’s preventing war so that it doesn’t go into Poland and other NATO countries.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Saturday offered a bill to keep the government open that did not include funding for Ukraine, despite the fact that similar legislation in the Senate with Ukraine aid was moving forward.

McCarthy had argued Ukraine aid should not be part of a stopgap measure, and a number of Republicans in the House oppose it.

Clint, you are missed on this thread, please visit more often

Government shut downs are a joke. We go through this every October, the government will shut down ( but not really) they layoff "non essential employees, then pay them for the time they were laid off. I say a government 35 trillion in debt has no business having any non essential employees.

Then it is how the media covers the shutdown, If we have a R in the white house and D running congress then it is the presidents fault, if we have a D in the white house and R running congress then it is congress fault,

I have been watching this sh-t show sense Reagan and nothing has changed

McCarthy sold his soul to get the job, now he might pay for not following orders. Republicans want to remove McCarthy from the speakership.

Ah, for the days of Nancy Pelosi when she said something, everyone listened!

Don’t remember her party trying to get rid of her, do you? if so let me know

In reality, McCarty was placed in that position for the purpose of using him as a yes boy.

I do not. That was the point of the post. In other words, in the good ole days of Nancy, everyone followed orders.

If that’s how you see it, I have no problem with your Opinions

Had to jump in a trade, It’s her job to be a leader without the threat of losing her job.

Wait, are we not a democracy where every elected official is in continuous threat of losing their job

Pelosi has had the speakership twice now and twice her party was voted out after only 4 years

Just as our government’s greatest fear is the people left and right coming together against them, our greatest fear should be dems and reps coming together against us. The more they fight among each other the better off we are

Love this country

The speaker losing his job has nothing to do with the American people, it’s about his party controlling what he says and does, and you know that.

When you miss the sacrifices he made to get the job then it is no longer acting stupid, it is what it is.

Yup.

Here she is — California’s new Junior U .S. Senator.

She’s (arguably) the best-qualified far left, black lesbian who happened to be available on short notice.

Never mind that she has never held any elected public office before.

And never mind thtat she doesn’t even live in California — she lives in Maryland, and is registered to vote in Maryland.

What more could Californians want in a U.S. Senator?

California continues to circle the drain.

Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), a former high school principal, knows exactly what happens when someone pulls the fire alarm… It delays whatever is going on… Be it an English test you don’t want to take, or a house vote that isn’t going your way…

Unfortunately… Logic burns through a Democrats’ skin like salt does on a slug…

If a Republican did this, Democrats would be screaming that this is a threat to democracy. :joy:

The US Political system under this administration has officially gone down the drain…

Gaetz wants McCarthy gone, but will democrats save him?

Democrats are torn on whether to rescue Speaker Kevin McCarthy

Gaetz made the motion Monday night, but it remains unclear whether he has the votes. The fluid situation presents high risks and high rewards, depending on how House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and other Democrats play their cards.

If Gaetz assembles even a handful of Republican votes to oust McCarthy, R-Calif., the speaker’s survival could hinge on whether Democrats step in and rescue him. They wouldn’t have to vote directly in favor of keeping McCarthy on — voting “present” would reduce the number of GOP votes McCarthy needs to hold on to the gavel.

Gaetz’s own party seems to be growing weary of him. I don’t think he will need the democratic party.

“Wake up, dude,” Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Monday. “This is absolutely ridiculous, and it’s just him trying to latch on to something else to create chaos and try to use as a vehicle to remove the speaker.”

Lawler insisted that Republicans under McCarthy are trying to create a bill to cut spending and advance other conservative causes but said Gaetz could put that in jeopardy.

“We are doing the work,” he said. “This will be a major distraction from that work.”

Lawler said other members of the GOP conference are growing tired of Gaetz’s antics.

“Matt has been a singular destructive force within the conference, and the American people should understand that what he is doing is not conservative, it is not conservative Republicanism,” Lawler said. “He is a charlatan.”

You’re worried about his speech, we’re still worried about the crimes Trump’s committed, but not much you can say against the actual evidence proving his guilt. Some GOP are finally coming to terms publicly with that reality.

I wonder what it will take for you to jump off Trump’s back. I guess since he’s Biden’s age when he was last elected, Trump is unelectable, right?

Plenty of Dems are ready for something other than Biden. I would say the majority of voters are ready for someone younger.

Not going to happen.

Just like with Hillary Clinton, becoming U.S. Senator for the state of NY, a state she had never lived in

It is because of sh-t like this I say all congress members should (both senate and House) actually live ( minimum 10 years) in the state of the people they will represent.

How about this idea, with today’s technology there is little reason for congress to meet in Washington, they could all stay in their states and attend congressional meets by Skype, another benefit would be how hard it would be for lobbyist to have to visit each member of congress in their home state.

Keeping our congressional representative out of the cesspool of Washington DC would be a win for the people
