Political Opinion

I bet there are a lot of honest people in office but since lobbyists are granted free passage to the politicians…everyone likes legal money and everyone has a price…

Was in argument with somebody earlier about gun control. He told me the Bath school incident was a fluke, so I found a nice list for him. I knew about the Oklahoma bombing, but not the others. The guy in the truck went nuts.

Oklahoma bombing. 44 people with a bomb

Arson, stabbing in Seoul
6 people dead, 5 from stabbing. 7 others wounded, 4 seriously

stabbing spree in Shanghai, China
6 Police Officers stabbed to death, 4 wounded.

Guy in japan ran his truck into a crowd of people, then got out and stabbed several more

stabbing in alaska kills 4

4 killed in london in stabbing spree

florida, fight over xbox, guys kill 6 people with baseball bat

south korea, guy sets fire to a train killing 198 people, injuring 147.

osaka school massacre,
8 children dead, 13 other children and 2 teachers wounded with a kitchen knife

So then how would you fix it?

Just outlaw lobbying , campaign donations and etc…

Sounds simple enough, but what lobbyist is going to let a lawmaker do that

It’s a politicians cash cow. Not going to get rid of it.

You think I like Bush?

Lol, take a gander through the history of this thread.

I’ve pointed out the socialist BS that Bush did as well.

Calling me a Faux News zombie again? Do you think if you saying that ad nauseum will make it true?

I just assumed you had such a profound love for welfare because you were on it or because you held a bureaucratic job that leached 70% of the welfare funds… My bad. I guess you actually are under the guise that socialism, more regulations, more welfare, more taxes, etc… is actually good. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt actually. If you supported this nonsense because you were making money from it, that would be one thing, but apparently you feel patriotic when you piss away a hefty portion of your income on welfare, wars, bailouts and corporate subsidies.

I’m sorry that the 2008 collapse (That was caused by socialistic policies such as the CRA, low interest rates, subsidies, etc…) had such a profound impact on your life.

Hopefully one day we will learn from these failed socialistic and corporatist policies.

Yeah man. I spend all my time watching the news. Especially Fox. That’s where I learned that socialism is bad and Bush was good.

Do you honestly believe I do that?

Lol, the media is inherently biased in favor of socialistic policies. The media benefits from them, although they don’t have the foresight to realize it will eventually kill their livelihoods.

Lol, no, politicians can’t be trusted.

I find it funny that you think all politicians should be given the benefit of the doubt. As if they are inherently good and have our interests in mind.

I am skeptical of every politician, in every party. I trust none of them unless they earn it, and even then I question EVERYTHING they do.

I am not a politician and a politician is not me. That’s ridiculous. I don’t take money from lobbyists. I don’t pass laws that ruin people’s lives, so I can make more money. I don’t make a 6 figure salary by selling out my electorate.

Politicians are corrupt. You think Capitalism does it. Lol, it doesn’t. People in the free market are trying to make money. When the government gets involved in that process, there will obviously be corruption.

If the government wasn’t powerful enough to benefit corporations and businesses, then corporations and businesses would be forced to wage war against each other through the market, not through the government.

Instead of buying politicians and passing a law to kill your competition, you would have to make a better product or provide a better service to beat your politician.

Your problem is you fail to realize that human nature is constant. Most people want stuff. People want lots of stuff. They will get that stuff through any outlet they can. When the government becomes an outlet to gain more stuff, people will use that outlet. Why don’t you understand this?

That’s great. I’m proud of you for being such a hard worker who doesn’t live off the dole.

And no, I’m not smug. I’m not the one telling people in Croatia how they ought to live. I’m not the one trying to use government to dictate every tiny little aspect in your life, the way I see fit. I’m not arguing that you should keep less of your money. I have no desire for the government to forfeit your property.

I’m not the one who just banned olive oil jugs for everyone living in the EU.

EU to ban olive oil jugs from restaurants - Telegraph

You are the one trying to dictate how I should run my life, how my money should be spent, what I should be allowed to own, what I should be allowed to do with my OWN PROPERTY AND MY OWN BODY. You are the one who advocates taking a portion OF MY LIVELIHOOD and dishing it out for corporations, bailouts, welfare deadbeats and bureaucrats.

Don’t call me smug.

You can spend your money however you like. You can have whatever system you want. I don’t care what you do.

But don’t you DARE tell me how I ought to run my life.

If a group of people want to have more economic and personal freedom, who are you to dictate how they live?

This is not that different from invading and subjugating people and it’s disgusting and repulsive. I hate it, and I will not stand for it.

Haha, yeah. That will show them!

Let’s ban lobbying! It will stop lobbying

Lets ban drugs! It will stop people from using drugs!

Yes, the politicians who make millions from lobbyists are going to stop it. Makes sense.

Hey, remember when they banned insider trading, for show… and then legalized it again when nobody was watching? What a bunch of all knowing hero’s, the whole lot of them.

POLITICIANS DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU. YOU ARE TAX CATTLE. YOU ARE A SERF

I’m just shooting my mouth off…This would never happen…but it should if we would like to preserve the system from total corruption

Man, you edit your posts too much. I come back in and see I somehow missed part of a post

That olive oil jug thing still doesn’t top the registered seeds  That one is my favorite

How am I going to dictate You how to run your life?? I am just saying, hey, there are problems with this system of ours and this is what I think the fix should be…and how about you, what are your thoughts on the matter, internet age Paul Revere?! Conversation, the free trade of ideas, you Ayn Rand zombie! Can you do dat??
You are not telling me how to run my life but instead inadvertently dictating it by funding the US military and US economic hitmen that buy my politicians who then in turn enact your clandestine Empire’s interests in my country…
I know that you are glued to that corporate news outlet that you call your TV , because I actually read your comments and occasionally you have mentioned a popular distraction or two for that day as served by the Fox News and other media c words.

Jolly should just buy you some pompoms and a prepaid cellphone to instagram you his dck pics on!

You’re a typical idealogue, Jolly…Just run for a local office of some kind coz plenty sheeple (and this doesn’t include my buddy wigglez) like this impractical rhetoric…You already won BP conservative vote!

If jolly ran, I already told him I’d vote for him

That’s because he has Ron Paul’s rhetoric…But even Ron Paul made most of his money in Washington office?! Don’t quote me on this!

Not sure where he made most of his money. I know he made a lot though predicting all this would happen. If I knew he was a witch I would have bought gold a long time ago also.

Ron Paul is the only person I would ever vote for and feel like I just wasn’t voting for the lesser of two evils.

I bet he forgot to tell you to sell since recently?! Gold has been overbought for the longest time. He endorced Mitt Romney at the end of his 2012 race, or it was just his son that did it…?

Not sure. I haven’t been paying much attention lately. Can’t trade gold in the u.s. anyway.

Lol sorry.

I always post before I proof read, then go back and start adding additional stuff.

Yeah, registering seeds are the most derp.

Now all they need is mandatory background checks before you buy the seeds.

As far as olive oil, my guess is, whoever owns the company that creates “pre-packaged, factory bottles with a tamper-proof dispensing nozzle” had some pretty good political connections in the EU. As with pretty much every law.

If the Greeks riot over forced austerity, you know they are going to be up and arms over the jug grabbers!

I never posted what you quoted.

I fund my military and my economic hitmen to take over your country? Well maybe I do.

But has anything I said made you believe that I want to dictate what happens in your country? No.

My taxpayer dollars have gone to a lot of BS. Too much to list. If some of them actually went to Croatia to buy out politicians and prop up a puppet government, I am deeply sorry.

I don’t support that.

I used to be for stuff like that about 4 years ago. I used to be in favor of the Iraq war and obliterating any country that disagreed with the US govt.

I saw a video of Marines widening a road through a village using APOBS. They basically cleared Afghans out of their homes and then blew the homes up, along with everything within something like 20 yards from the original road to clear out IED’s and make a wide path. It sort of woke me up when I heard the women crying and the children screaming when they heard the chain of C4 detonate, destroying their homes.

That opened my eyes a bit and I put myself in the their shoes. I don’t blame the Marines, I blame the politicians and bureaucrats.

But that really made me start to look at everything more objectively… Then I saw a Ron Paul video lol. Or it might have been the other way around, I forget. But it definitely changed everything for me.

I don’t want us to influence your politicians. The only thing I want with Croatia is friendly trade. I don’t want military alliances or mutual agreements… Just trade.

And if the Croatian govt refuses to trade with us… Fine. I don’t think we should try to change that through subversion or force. If Croatia embraces socialism, communism or whatever, who are we to try and change that?

I think we should mind our own business, unless we are attacked. If we are legitimately attacked, I think we should lay waist to the aggressor as soon as possible and then leave.

Other than that, I do believe we should have a strong navy to protect trade by stoping things like piracy.

I don’t get my news from the TV. I rarely watch TV. We don’t even have a cable subscription anymore. There isn’t much on TV that I like, and the shows I do like aren’t worth an additional $80 something dollars a month.

I get my news from Democratic Underground…

lol, just kidding.

I get my news from Drudgereport, zerohedge and dailypaul. They compile news from different websites like the Huffington Post, LA Times, Blaze, Etc… Occasionally they source websites like CNN, CBS, Fox, NBC, etc… But I take it all with a grain of salt and try to look at everything from an objective standpoint.

I like to have a wide variety from different sources.

I have a question. Do you like the EU? Do you think a few unaccountable bureaucrats in Brussels should be telling you that you can’t have jugs and you need to register seeds?

I think decisions like that should be up to EU member states, not the EU. If Greece doesn’t want Austerity, I don’t think the EU, IMF and ECB should force it on them.

Do you agree with that?

Because that’s also how I feel about the US federal government…

Fair enough? Do you get where I’m coming from?
