Questions!

Hi!!!
I have some questions using your software. How do i switch my demo account to use Dealing Desk? With an regular account can is set my leverage 50:1 on a small balance of 2k? Is scalping allowed? Can i use MT4?
Can you point me to documentation on funding and withdrawals from a live account?
Thanks Jason!
MBlake

Hi MBlake,

The demo account I set you up with in my previous post is for our DD spreads and runs on the Trading Station platform. Here’s a link for an MT4 demo on our NDD spreads.

It’s a US demo, so the leverage will be set to 50:1. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to specify a starting balance of 2k on the registration form, so it will default to 50k. That means you want to make sure your Free Margin in the account never falls to 48k, because such a drop would result in your trading being liquidated in a 2k account.

FXCM has no restrictions on scalping. On our NDD model, we make money from trading volume, so scalpers are some of our best clients. In regards to your question about deposits and withdrawals, here’s a link to our FAQ.

Note that all this info is for our FXCM US entity. If you live outside the US, let me know, since you might prefer one of our international entities which offer CFD trading.

Thanks Jason. With your basic dd account will I be able to have 50:1 leverage? I’m in the usa

Yes, all US accounts are set up on 50:1 leverage by default, since it’s the most allowed by US regulations.

Thanks! I’m happy I got clarification before I went live with my trading I really like the changes you have made and your mobile app

I’ll let the software developers know you like the mobile app, and please let me know if you have any suggestions for future updates!

hi Jason!
I have a demo account with the lower spreads(NDD) and would like to set up meta trader to do NDD. I got a meta trader demo account but it seems to be using the DD spreads. i have written a EA that i want to test out.
Thanks,
M.Blake

Hi M.Blake,

Just to clarify, our standard spreads are on NDD, and our new lower spreads are on DD execution.

Below are links so that you can register an MT4 demo on the spreads and execution model you prefer.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jason

jason,
it seems that both links for the Demo MT4 Trading platform go to the Non Dealing Desk. I looked on your site and didnt see a Dealing Desk Demo for MT4 but i couldnt be over looking.

I double-checked both links and they worked correctly for me. Try this link for a [lower spreads MT4 demo.

You can change the Execution Type to “Lower Spreads (Dealing Desk)” if it’s not set that way automatically.

Thanks once again!

Anytime :22:

Hi Jason I hope you are doing great, I have a question regarding the open position.

When I open a position with SL and TP previously number of pips was visible on the chart with SL and TP, but now only visible with net open position not with SL and TP. On the chart I can see the SL and TP but not the pips.

I hope you understand my question.

Do you know how do I get it back.

Hi Sharebazar,

I’m doing well, thanks :57:

It sounds to me like your account is with FXCM US, instead of FXCM UK. Is this on a demo?

Long story short, FXCM US accounts have to comply with US regulations regarding first-in, first-out trading (FIFO). That means the SL and TP orders on US accounts are linked to net positions instead of individual trades. If you set up an FXCM UK demo, then you will be able to see the pips on the charts for your individual trades.

Your forum profile mentions that you live in London, so below are links for you to register an FXCM UK spread betting demo:

[ul]
[li]FXCM UK Spread Betting Demo - Standard Spreads (No Dealing Desk Execution)
[/li][li]FXCM UK Spread Betting Demo - Reduced Spreads (Dealing Desk Execution)
[/li][/ul]

Spread betting accounts operate exactly like standard FXCM UK accounts, but enjoy special tax-free status for UK residents. Since they are only available to UK residents, spread betting accounts are all denominated in British Pounds. That means on your demo account, the Equity and P/L will all be displayed in GBP, instead of USD.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Jason

Jason thanks for your reply, my account is UK account, I used to get the pips number on my chart but not any more.

I will check the link.

Not sure where to post this so I guess I’ll ask here :19:

I’m wondering if FXCM plans to have Moneybookers/Skrill as a payment system for depositing and withdrawing funds.

I live in Asia and here, there are problematic restrictions on wire transfers, credit/debit cards and paper checks for funding a margin account (which is what fx trading is about).

However, Moneybookers is freely available and hence am curious to know if or when this option may be avalable at FXCM. I’m okay with Paypal too… Basically I’m interested in an e-wallet kind of deposit + withdrawal system.

I have verified, long-standing accounts with both Paypal and Moneybookers.

Hi Irongate,

While FXCM does not accept deposits via Paypal or Moneybookers, our Operations department can advise you on what deposit methods our clients in your country have used successfully to fund their trading accounts. I encourage you to speak with one of the specialists in our Operations department. You can speak with our live customer support anytime 24 hours a day either via online chat or by calling one of our international toll-free numbers.

Hey Roger,

I was wondering if there any feature that would can notify me by an alert or email when price reaches a particular area? Thank you in advance.

Ps FXCM is lucky to have you. You help keep alot of accounts

Hi in2fx33

You can use the PriceAlert signal. For that in MarketScope go to the Alerts and trading information menu then choose New strategy or alert. In Alerts and signals find the PriceAlert.

Please see also Price Alert Signal.

I hope it helps.
