"Quotes" worth quoting

This is an excerpt from Mike’s (TalonD’s) science article (I have added the bold type for emphasis):

Researchers Find a ‘Liberal Gene’

ScienceDaily (Oct. 28, 2010) — Liberals may owe their political outlook partly to their genetic make-up, according to new research from the University of California, San Diego, and Harvard University. Ideology is affected not just by social factors, but also by a dopamine receptor gene called DRD4. The study’s authors say this is the first research to identify a specific gene that predisposes people to certain political views.

…Dopamine is a neurotransmitter affecting brain processes that control movement, emotional response, and ability to experience pleasure and pain. Previous research has identified a connection between a variant of this gene and novelty-seeking behavior, and this behavior has previously been associated with personality traits related to political liberalism…

You see? Prozac is the solution to your problem.

TalonD, thanks for the info! You take it back, you take it back … what do you take back, lol?

Clint, I guess we should invest some money into the pill industry. Maybe there we can find something better than Prozac. A pill for morons? Think of it how nice this world would become if that would work. But wait … The only issue what could arise, that nobody would invest his money anymore into bummer trades, lol. That would be the real holy grail pill.

Haha… Again, I must specify that European “Liberal” means different than American “Liberal”, it was this I was refering to when saying don`t label me anything, because chances are that your preconceptions are wrong.

Why don`t you get that??

Anyway, I`m glad you guys are having fun trying to mock me :stuck_out_tongue:
CLASSIC!

kummi90,

I know what “liberal” means in the US and I know what it means in Europe. You know, I love to travel and live in different continents. Just like you. Frankly, I would be nothing without umts.

So, you are an anticommunistic, prosocialistic, libertarian, conservative, republican Che Guevara and Castro groupie who wants to pay more tax that old people (like me) can cross the street?

Oh boy, maybe I should buy some Prozac, that can’t all be true …

LOL that comes under the heading of how do you say something while actually saying the opposite! clever huh?

reminds me of a quote from the movie 'the life and times of judge roy bean’
When asked to apologize to the marshals wives who he called wh0res

" I understand you have taken exception to my calling you wh0res. I’m sorry. I apologize. I ask you to note that I did not call you callous-ass strumpets, fornicatresses, or low-born gutter sluts. But I did say “wh0res.” No escaping that. And for that slip of the tongue, I apologize. "

Reminds me at Paul N. TalonD. Great actor!

Did you see that one minute almost 200 pips candle?

What was the effect of the US elections on the market?

Nada. Zero. Its expected since months that the dems will lose. It’s like a news what came out like forecasted.

Oh yeah, thats true, didnt think about that. How about if the votes had gone unexpected e.g. the other way?
and how about presedential elections going the other way? I guess it can both spike and drop, huh, it just depends?

I guess it was already priced in since months. Unexpected often, but not everytime, means it goes in one direction. Just hard to forecast which direction, lol. I am not a newstrader, though. Just what I believe to know about. I guess most trade the news in either direction, whatever pa they see.

Clint opened an election thread anywhere, I guess. Or another suggestion to you: Just open your own thread and there you may ask or discuss whatever you like. We are a bit off topic here.

Warren Buffet’s Investment & Life Wisdoms

Spending: If you buy things you don’t need, you’ll soon sell things you need.

Savings: Don’t save what is left after spending; spend what is left after saving.

Hard work: All hard work brings profit; but mere talk leads only to poverty.

Laziness: A sleeping lobster is carried away by the water current.

Earnings: Never depend on a single source of income.

Borrowings: The borrower becomes the lender’s slave.

Accounting: It’s no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking.

Baby day?

You may adopt a baby and then you even do not need the wives. Instant babies only need time for the bureaucrats. I hope that takes not nine months, lol.

The joy of having a baby today can only be expressed in two words: tax deduction.

Some people seem to like to lose, so they win by losing money.
