What's cooking?

I’m gonna make a video that’s sure to go viral. I’m gonna put myself in a small hut in a Vietnamese cave, and I’m gonna be a man who has NEVER opened his eyes. I’ll hire a few locals for beer and cigarettes, and they’ll confirm my story. I’ll get a local doctor some black market opioids, and then he’ll confirm my story as well.

I’m gonna open my eyes on camera for the first time, then I’ll get overwhelmed by what I see, and proceed to defecate myself.

Meat pies: Has anyone tried them?

Those mini meat pies look delicious. I might pass on that eel dish, though!

Looks like that $700 meat pie’s price tag is justified…it takes a long time to make, and there’s a lot of nice ingredients.

Although I will never be a vegan, I am willing to try more of their dishes.

Just beaten the chickpeas with a wooden stick, it’s as tasty as pan-fried pork steaks

Why do we call them vegan dishes? Why do people keep trying to replicate meat dishes with vegetables?

Why don’t we just call them vegetable dishes? In Indian cuisine, there are lots of vegetable-only dishes. I’m rather confident that veggie-only dishes are healthier than these ¨vegan¨ items. Companies are jacking isolated proteins and morphing them into weird meat-alternatives. How about skip all that and just eat some friggin vegetables?

I had never thought about it that way. That makes more sense :+1:

If you make a spinach casserole with eggplant, tomatoes, and pesto. Is that vegan? Sure, you can call it vegan, but it’s really just a dish with veggies.

I’m not sure if vegan is just a way to describe what’s NOT in the food, or if it’s just about ego. It’s certainly become a hot marketing word.

I think it’s good to keep in mind that vegan doesn’t have to be about eating eating all these weird pea-protein fake bacon products. It just means you don’t eat any food that comes from animals.

However, even that point could be argued. Vegan for health reasons is one thing. But eating a plant-based diet because I don’t wanna kill any animals, that’s debatable. Farming plants kills animals also.

On top of that, aren’t plants alive as well? Harvesting veggies is killing the plants, right?

In the end, it’s just a personal choice, right?

A hot marketing word that stands out from the word vegetables/Veggies.

There are lots of arguments against Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Check this out:

As per google:
Several countries around the world have banned the use of GMOs. In the European Union the following countries have banned GMOS: France, Germany, Austria, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Poland, Denmark, Malta, Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia.

This site briefly explains what they are and what some important dangers are.

You know what, since vegans are more focused on plant-based diets, shouldn’t that community be the most outspoken in favor of healthier produce?

They should be the biggest advocates for regenerative farming, banning GMOs, etc.

“GMOs are not currently labeled in the United States or Canada; however, some products will start to be labeled in the United States thanks to the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard (NBFDS). The vast majority of crops in North America are genetically modified. Most commonly, packaged foods made from sugar, corn, soy, and canola are genetically modified. Livestock, agriculture, and aquaculture products are also considered to be high-risk for GMOs. Because over 80% of GMO crops grown around the world have been engineered for herbicide tolerance, resulting in a significant increase in the use of toxic herbicides, increasing its negative impact on the environment and human health. Several countries around the world have banned the use of GMOs.”

We Americans have consumed so much toxic food we have lost focus on what’s good for us and what’s bad for us, strategy done by the food industry

Legal ingredients in U.S. food products banned in Europe

U.S. food regulations allow chemicals and additives that are banned for human consumption in other countries. One expert says the additives could be making Americans sick.

1,000% right!

To be honest, years ago, I used to think they way we farm was necessary in order to feed so many people–pesticides and all. But, now, I think there are so many healthier/safer techniques.

The problem is that when big farms are looking at their bottom line and the possibility of maxing out their profits, they’ll do whatever is legal.

And since the big farms, nor the congressmen who make the laws, eat that food anyway, why would they care?

Once greed enters the picture, the people are F’d. It’s really sad.

Just imagine what the American Association for Cancer Research would do, if the US banned these pesticides and GMOs. Imagine if Cancer cases were gonna drop by 75% if we banned such farming.

Those people would secretly lobby against it! I guess it really is safe to call it the Cancer industry.

The first 30 seconds of this is making me sick…

I don’t blame that woman for moving to England over food.

When you see these kinds of clips and documentaries, it makes you sick. It also makes you feel like, ¨What the hell am I supposed to eat?!´

But there are lots of options.

Honestly, the government should provide safer options. If the our government isn’t banning such hazardous food, it makes you wonder whose side they’re on. Who are they really looking out for?

The food industry had world governments believing that, but that does raise another question moving forward, with the world population steadily growing can we make food healthy without cutting corners?

Nestle, Kellogg’s, and other big food conglomerates have been funding a massive misinformation campaign to make you think their foods are healthy.

Their goal is to get you addicted, and make billions in profits. It’s straight from Big Tobacco’s playbook literally.
