Is there anyone who has been vaccinated here?

Ehhh… Monday May 31st - Spring Bank Holiday, looks like someone’s telling stories…

The deaths have risen from single digits back to double digits… Looks like the data might have been held back Ehhh… All other numbers continue to rise…

I’m a frustrated Melbourne resident as well, although I fled the city and are currently working from my property in regional Victoria…

The main reason behind lockdowns in Victoria is the totally inept Contact Tracing by our state Government… They cannot even find their own Leader Daniel Andrews, who by the way has been on sick leave for the past 3 months after falling down some stairs

One way to get away from answering tricky questions from journalists I suppose…

To justify locking down the whole state of 6 million in Victoria… the Victorian State Government and “Health Officials” are out running around telling everyone what a Beast of a Virus this latest super infectious Indian strain is only to have Scientists and Epidemiologists call BS on the rate of spread…

The COVID-19 strain at the centre of the outbreak that has forced Melbourne into a second week of lockdown is not moving faster than other variants of the virus or spreading in new, unexpected ways, Australia’s peak pandemic advisory group has found.

The government justified yesterday’s extension of the lockdown by claiming what is now being called the “Kappa” variant of the virus is more contagious than previous outbreaks and infections are occurring more readily between people who only briefly came into contact.

University of Melbourne Professor James McCaw, an infectious disease expert and member of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee, which advises the national cabinet, said this was not supported by the data he had seen.

“There is no epidemiological evidence that this virus spreads faster,” he said. “There is no clear reason to think this virus is spreading in different ways.

“We need to be very cautious. We are on an absolute knife-edge in Victoria about whether we bring this under control rapidly or it develops further. But I don’t think it is helpful to seed alarmist or doomsday-type thoughts into the community.”

Once again we have a self serving Government narrative which differs from the actual facts…

NSW has had tens of thousands more return from overseas via quarantine and more outbreaks than Victoria and only locks down local areas… never the complete state of 7 million citizens…

Just like in the UK… Most are failing to understand the difference between actual news and self interest press releases…

Finally got vaccinated!

Yeah, saw the comments by a politician that just a fleeting encounter was enough to contaminate - that that one quite funny.

Most people here accept the press releases, for example head of nhs today giving a balanced view that yes the delta mutation is causing an increase in infections but is being translated into a relatively smaller hospital intake, he further noted that new patients are in the younger age bracket which in turn keeps pressure off ICU.

All our work force are now fully vaccinated - easing of restrictions in the hospitality sector is continuing and life has the feel of being almost back to normal

Wait, what? Did I read that right? You’re from U.S. but it’s not gonna be available until 2023? I don’t get it. I live in the Philippines and it’s already available here, although not everyone’s getting vaccinated yet because of the priority list. Personally, I haven’t been vaccinated yet because I belong in the last group in the list lol (not a frontliner and no comorbidity whatsoever). But my parents had just been vaccinated yesterday (coz they’re senior citizens). They said everything went smoothly. But yeah, I also hope we’ll be back to normal real soon. Can’t wait for that to happen!

And here we are…8 Days later… 100%+ increase in cases in the UK…

Don’t say Third Wave beginning in the UK.

I’m hoping the UK government’s up to date data by 21 June will show that intensive care intakes are still low and not rising significantly so we can ditch more covid restrictions - I’m not yet going to believe they will let them all go at the stroke of midnight.

Health Sec saying this morning that delta variant is now the predominant variant and is more transmissible by a factor of 40% - still not decided on details re 21st June and says Govt open to delaying.

Under 30’s getting vaccinated now - clearly a wait and see situation.

Edit: he also commented that 2 dose vac is equally effective against delta - that’s the good news.

The UK clearly (for a few of us!!) have herd immunity amongst the under 30’s… Ten’s of thousands of cases per week, a very small percentage vaccinated, but not actually being hospitalised or dying…

Governments and Health officials will stop even a germ of that possibility getting into the main stream media… Might make a lot of self important people look like a bunch of Muppets.

Billions spent on vaccines, economy destroying lockdowns, they’d look ridiculous… and they know it.
So the Vaccine fear porn will continue to be pushed onto the lemming like masses…

We are in strange times when comedians are doing the only critical reporting on this global pandemic.
Looks like they have lied from the start about the origin of this Virus, as more information is gradually dragged into the light… What else have the withheld over the past 18 months?

Another contender for a Vaccine driven windfall is big Pharma’s Johnson & Johnson… Who by the way are in the midst of a global lawsuit for production and distribution of their carcinogenic Talcum Powder…

Yet you let these companies inject you with a poorly trialled drug?? You would have to be clueless.

I understand that in OZ the vac uptake is very low - then again case numbers are low and deaths are low in your country so it’s easier for you guys to say we’re ok.

The defining point for me personally was a local man - a good guy, worked hard all his life then he had a minor accident - nothing life threatening but he had to go into hospital.

Anyways maybe all us vaccers are indeed clueless all 2 billion of us - but I’m happy because I’m alive and clueless

If 2 billion people jumped in the river…

Yayyy! Happy for you! Did you suffer any side effects from your vaccination? Also, which vaccine did you get?

Oh no. :open_mouth: Isn’t your government reaching out to you yet? :open_mouth:

I don’t understand, what’s the issue?

And survived then as a trader you’d weigh the probability of survival before jumping

and to @ria_rose as well.

Been reached out too, just all the centres near me are closed. I need to travel 30 miles to get it!

@peterma, if you had read any of the information presented to you rather than believing what the health secretary ( a politician ) said, then you would realise that we sceptics have a better chance of survival than the pro-vaxxers who are pumping themselves full of untested ( new technology ) drugs… With absolutely no long term data. The truth is readily available if you want to find out for yourself what is going on but I understand that to start reading material contrary to your core belief system would open up a can of worms . Someone once said that there is only one person responsible for your health… Here’s the list of possible answers.

A. Matt Hancock

B. Your doctor

C. You

D. Big pharma

Saved my life twice - well actually 2 different doctors.

Presumably you mean pharmaceutical companies in general - also saved my life twice - without the drugs the doctors could not have operated.

No he was probably only a budding politician, however a bunch of politicians started the National Health Service which is the organisation that employed the 2 doctors that saved my life and is also the organisation that purchased the drugs so that they could operate.

Me? - I just lay there completely out of it.

We are not all “created equal” - whatever the popular “wisdom” may be.

Up until around 120 years ago, Darwin’s “Survival of the fitest” was a part of every human’s lived experience and at an early age (in the '60’s) I formed teh opinion that we would Medicate ourselves into extinction by virtue of continually weakening the gene pool and relying on “Medical Science” to overcome all forms of disease and disability, until there were no resources left for anything else.

There is much evidence that in the west we have plummetting sperm counts and female infertility - IVF is now commonplace and many cannot conceive without it.

It is interesting to note that the “Black Death” which came out of China devastated europe and that certain genetic mutations protected their possessors against it ! - Later it was discovered that those with the same genetics were also immune to HIV/AIDS !

The “Spansh Flu” (which actually came from USA) killed huge numbers in Europe and USA and once it had taken t’s toll of those who were susceptible, it has never been a great threat since.

This one is quite odd in a way because it kills mainly old men who are overweight and high BP. So in fact as an evolutionary force it is almost irrelevant ! - Most probably have short Telameres anyway - I have had both my Oxford AZ jabs and am content about that - but I too am now irrelevant - my genes have been passed on as far as they are going to be and my life or death is unimportant from an evlutionary perspective - if I was the age my children are I would most likely NOT have it and certainly I counsel them Against having their own kids (My grand-children) jabbed !

If Bill Gates can sqeeze another trillion or so out of stupid Governments - so be it !
