by your own math, get government 1/4 and insurance companies 1/4 out of our healthcare cost go down 1/2

Big Pharma is a major obstacle to health in America, Just look at all the TV ads, seems like at least half are big pharma ads

Something like 70% of American adults are on at least one prescription drug. That number goes up to over 90% for us over 60, not good

On that subject, on my last Doctor’s visit ( annual check-up) the doctor was surprised I was not on any medication, she fixed that by prescribing me one.

How Lobbyists Are Protecting The Corporate Court

Lobbying groups are fighting to protect the GOP’s Supreme Court majority, which is great for business.

The U.S. Supreme Court is a corporate star chamber, and big business wants to keep it that way.

That’s why corporate lobbying groups — like the Business Roundtable, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce — are pressing the Biden administration not to reform the Supreme Court.

The lobbying groups warn that expanding the Supreme Court would damage perception of its legitimacy and independence. It’s a ridiculous argument, given that Republicans blocked President Barack Obama from filling a Supreme Court seat in 2016, stacked the court with conservative ideologues under President Donald Trump, and confirmed Justice Amy Coney Barrett days before the 2020 election.

Some of the business organizations are even claiming that adding seats on the Supreme Court would harm the U.S. economy.

to much power and control over American politicians

Big corporations are lobbying congress to strip away american workers’ rights, Amazon has become more aggressive in how they treat their workers.

U.S. antitrust law dates back to 1890, but it’s been largely out of the spotlight for twenty years. Now, with antitrust concerns swirling around Big Tech companies and major telecommunications mergers, it’s back. Watch this video to find out how US antitrust law evolved and what it means for America’s biggest businesses.

That raises the question, what is this thread really about?. There is a lack of recognition of the real problems which make America worst, yet people here wish to promote their own bullsht agendas because America isn’t what they want it to be.

Speaking to a colleague this week who had need to consult with a MD - he chose to go ‘private’ which in UK means to either pay via insurance or direct.

He commented that the receptionist’s first question was ’ self funding or insurance?’

We both wondered whether there was a different cost schedule.

My own experience, thank God, was back 10 years - then i was told that going ‘private’ would entail a longer wait for life saving surgery - by choosing the faster and 'freebee ’ route helped save me to type this.

Don’t know if you guys cover Price Transparency in Healthcare but here’s a video on it.

Price Transparency: How to Fix Healthcare

Tell this to those who live in Canada and come to America for immediate healthcare that would take weeks in Canada. Many Americans travel to Mexico for surgerys, they pay cash and the hospitals are more like luxury Hotels

Another examples of Cash vs Insurance

Go to a Auto body shop and the first question they ask is Cash or Insurance, Cash will get you a better price and you will be put at the front of the line, ( I know this to be true from personal experience)

Then there is Cash vs Credit

Pay cash at the gas station and you get 5 to 10 cents off per gallon,
Try to pay your electric bill with a credit card and they will hit you with a 3% credit card fee

I recently bought a house paying cash ( no mortgage) Not only am I saving a ton of money of on the would be cost of the mortgage. The closing process was also fast and simple, and the buyer even excepted my slightly lower offer over another offer that would have required loan approval

Paying for any service or product directly and not going through a third party ( I.E. Insurance or Credit) is always going to be cheaper

Coupled with what I wrote above about the Australian Dodumentary (Really worth the watch! ) and the dubious at best "Advice we get on all manner of other stuff - (including the Bat-Flu)

It seems to me that if you have a broken Arm/Leg or diagnosed Cancer, bullet wound, or some other obvious issues - then the UK “Health Service” and it looks like yours too - are the place to go for treatment.

However - for the more refined stuff - like dietary advice and preventative treatments in general, the advice we are getting is somewhat similar to the olden days when everything was treated by “Blood Letting” and the application of leeches ! - in fact here in the uk - it seems the NHS itself is acting in much the same way as those very LEECHES !

I have a good friend who had severe and debilitating issues over several years and despite his correctly diagnosing the problem himself and the “Tests” he demanded in the face of strenuous opposition from his “Doctor - woman” - confirming his diagnosis ! - was Refused the necessary treatment and has had to order and apply the ongonig medication himself from overseas on the “Black MArket” - with all the attendant risks !

After 3 months of thrice weekly inections his quality of life is incredibly enhanced and he both looks and performs like a man 20 years younger!

He now needs ongoing tests to check some associated stuff and will have to reveal his actions to the NHS in order to get them! - We await with interest the response when he asks for them !

Here is a part of teh problem - which I understand also exists in yourr country !

Make it this transparent on top of direct pay and you fixed healthcare in America

While I didn’t read too much on the healthcare topic, I did notice you made a reference to direct payment.

Suppose I need surgery five times and five different procedures at the average cost of $10,000 per surgery. How would direct payment work in this situation?

The fact a private institution calls itself “Federal” is just deceitful.

Humansarefree reports:

The Fed and the IRS

Virtually unknown to the general public is the fact that the US Federal Reserve is a privately owned company, siting on its very own patch of land, immune to the US laws.

Our own Federal Reserve is an illegally emplaced private bank that is directly responsible for creating all the US’s depressions, recessions, and the inflation and deflation of our dollar. The Fed controls the printing of our own currency, and then charges the US government interest on those loans. The interest is growing each year, making it difficult if not impossible for our government to pay it. How do we pay this interest? By the US Personal Income Tax. This tax goes to the Rothschild family.

the healthcare crisis that we are now experiencing worldwide is going to most likely cause our major hospital chains to go bankrupt and they will be replaced by private clinics that will be cash and carry and they will be very inexpensive.

when i was in asia a few years ago, i paid a visit to a small 24 hour emergency clinic… we spent twenty minutes in private consultation with a licensed physician and a nurse. we had at least half of a dozen prescriptions written for us… and our bill for these services was less than $20.00 us currency.

the world of healthcare is going to go this direction.
