House panel asks Archives to review whether Trump still has any White House records

Maloney cited Trump’s “pattern of conduct” related to mishandling presidential records and classified materials as reason to believe that Trump “may continue to retain presidential records at nonsecure locations, including classified material that could endanger our nation’s security and other important records documenting Mr. Trump’s activities at the White House.”

The chairwoman of the House Oversight Committee has requested that the National Archives conduct a review into whether presidential records from the Trump White House have all been accounted for after the Justice Department recovered roughly 100 classified documents and 48 empty folders with banners marked “classified” from the former president’s residence last month.

In a letter sent Tuesday to the acting archivist of the United States, Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-N.Y.) urged the Archives to “seek a personal certification from Donald Trump that he has surrendered all presidential records that he illegally removed from the White House after leaving office.”

Displays just how stupid these Democrat governed states are…

Florida and Texas should just keep shuffling Biden’s porous border issues up to these so called Sanctuary cities until Joe Hiden and Kamala Embarrass closes the border…

Despite having the opportunity to secure the border, Rebulicans chose to oppose Trump on the border wall, while crying about Illegal Immigrants and the replacement theory, and Joey Boy is doing nothing about it.

Buses of Illegal Immigrants Arrive outside Kamala Harris’s D.C. Residence

Texas Governor Greg Abbott reportedly bussed over 100 illegal immigrants to the vice presidential residence in Washington, D.C., Thursday, days after Vice President Kamala Harris claimed the border was “secure.”

A video shot by Fox News shows the immigrants standing around on the sidewalk outside the Naval Observatory. The outlet’s national correspondent, Griff Jenkins, said the immigrants were mostly from “Venezuela” and that one migrant said the border is “open.”

More than meet the eyes

Considering Republicans’ claims about illegal immigration and the replacement theory, it is surprising they didn’t secure the border or try to do so while Trump was president.

Republicans always blame Democrats for all their problems, even the ones they themselves make or do nothing about.

THE 26 REPUBLICANS WHO’VE VOTED AGAINST TRUMP’S BORDER WALL “EMERGENCY”

Last week, with a 53-36 vote (59.6 percent), the U.S. Senate failed to get the two-thirds necessary to override President Trump’s veto of a resolution reversing his February 15 “national emergency” declaration. That declaration, coming after Trump failed to force Congress to pay billions for his “border wall” demands, would take more than $6 billion from the Defense Department budget and Treasury seized-asset funds, and plow it into border wall construction.

A quick rundown:

  • 2019 started with much of the U.S. government “shut down” because Congress would not pass a budget giving Trump the $5.7 billion he wanted for his border wall.
  • Finally, after a 35-day shutdown, Trump caved and signed a budget with far less wall funding.
  • On February 15, using power he claimed that the 1976 National Emergencies Act gives him, Trump declared an “emergency” at the border requiring him to move money out of defense accounts and into wall-building.
  • Court challenges to this emergency declaration are ongoing. In July, the Supreme Court allowed wall-building to proceed while judicial deliberations continue. In mid-October, though, a federal judge in El Paso froze much of the Defense Department money.

The National Emergencies Act gives Congress the ability to challenge the emergency declaration every six months, by passing a joint resolution. A 1983 Supreme Court decision allows the President to veto this resolution; the emergency declaration would then remain in place unless two thirds of both houses of Congress vote to override the presidential veto.

Trump’s Great Wall of Failure

Despite having control of both chambers of Congress for two years, Trump couldn’t deliver.

To make matters worse for Trump, he doesn’t even have Democrats to blame for his epic fail. Trump had unified Republican control of the House, Senate, and White House for the first two years of his presidency, and he couldn’t even get his own party on board to support his wall.

The wall has never been popular (polling at best around 40 percent support), so even Congressional Republicans have been wise enough to realize that Trump’s wall is bad politics and bad policy. Texas Congressman Will Hurd, whose district runs eight hundred miles along the Rio Grande, described building a wall in his district as “impossible,” and called Trump’s border wall “a 3rd century solution to a 21st century problem.” Even reliable Trump loyalists like John Cornyn and Thom Tillis have criticized the feasibility and efficacy of the wall.

In February 2017 Cornyn admitted that, “There’s parts of our border which [building a wall] makes absolutely no sense,” and correctly predicted that people would be able to “climb over the wall or go under the wall or through the wall.” In a post on his website, Tillis also once readily admitted “that a continuous wall from one end of our Southern border to the other is neither feasible nor effective. It’s basic geology.”

Rather than trump, this is about the clown party that had two years in power to secure the borders but did nothing but blame the Democrats for the problem, Yet, they complain about illegal immigrants and the great replacement theory

I am seeing this 8.7% number a lot lately, this is what the US government claims to be inflation this year and is what they will base the Cost of Living increase for Social Security, I challenge anyone reading this to show me something sold in the US that has only gone up 8.7% over the past year, I live here and I can not think of one thing.

Inflation occurs when prices rise across the economy, decreasing the purchasing power of your money. In 1980, for example, a movie ticket cost on average $2.89. By 2019, the average price of a movie ticket had risen to $9.16. If you saved a $10 bill from 1980, it would buy two fewer movie tickets in 2019 than it would have nearly four decades earlier.

Don’t think of inflation in terms of higher prices for just one item or service, however. Inflation refers to the broad increase in prices across a sector or an industry, like the automotive or energy business—and ultimately a country’s entire economy.

The chief measures of U.S. inflation are the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the Producer Price Index (PPI) and the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (PCE), all of which use varying measures to track the change in prices consumers pay and producers receive in industries across the whole American economy.

Inflation can become a destructive force in an economy if it is allowed to get out of hand and rise dramatically. Unchecked inflation can topple a country’s economy, like in 2018 when Venezuela’s inflation rate hit over 1,000,000% a month, causing the economy to collapse and forcing countless citizens to flee the country.

Understanding the PCE Price Index

While the PCE index has a lower profile than the consumer price index (CPI), it’s notable for a few reasons:

Core PCE is the Federal Reserve’s preferred measure of inflation, helping to guide the central bank’s monetary policy decisions.

  • Price data for the PCE index comes from surveys of businesses, rather than what consumers say they’re spending on goods and services.
  • The PCE’s basket of goods and services changes regularly to account for substitution—when prices for one item rise, consumers shift their spending to cheaper alternatives.
  • It also measures expenditures on goods and services made on behalf of consumers, like spending on medical insurance by employers or government programs.

This was a foregone conclusion, We’re back to fearmongering, once again

‘Shootings, Stabbings, Rapes, Carjackings.’ Trump Brings Roadshow to Ohio, Trashes America

If you ask the former president, America is in ruins. “We no longer have a border. Our country is being invaded. It’s an invasion by millions of illegal aliens,” Donald Trump said at his Saturday night rally, using the Great Replacement Theory’s racist “invasion” language, favored by violent white nationalists. “The economy is crashing. Your 401(k) is collapsing,” Trump told the crowd. “Shooting, stabbings, rapes, carjackings are skyrocketing.”

This may be the case for your country but here in the US you can replace

Stalin, Putin, Hitler, Caesar… etc
with
Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon and General Dynamics

What a great country the US could be if these companies spent all that money on infrastructure projects like, Safe Nuclear Power, high speed rail, water treatment, roads and bridges

We can be better

I think this is terrible, and goes under the phrase Two Wrongs Don’t Make a Right , but a Wrong to point out another Wrong might be the only choice they have, kind of like fighting fire with fire.

Now the Democrats could avoid all this and just ship everyone they let in directly to these sanctuary cities. I am sure the mayors of those cities would have no problem if it was joe biden shipping them illegals

I support legal immigration

How a Democracy Falls

Actually the 3 letter word I had in mind for all warmongers regardless of geography is EGO.

Capitalism has a dark side no doubt - most often driven by greed which in itself is a derivative of ego - remember the guy who had loads of grain and decided to store it all in bigger barns.

But there is another side to the Boeings - the workers who take home wages and help their kids thru college, maybe a weekend away with the family or a romantic meal.

Wars are driven by evil - life is driven by Good.

QAnon

Is an American political conspiracy theory and political movement. It originated in the American far-right political sphere in 2017

QAnon centers on false claims made by an anonymous individual or individuals known as “Q”.

Those claims have been relayed, developed and supplemented by numerous communities and influencers associated with the movement.

The core QAnon theory is that a cabal of Satanic, cannibalistic sexual abusers of children operating a global child sex trafficking ring conspired against former U.S. President Donald Trump during his term in office.

QAnon has direct roots in Pizzagate, an internet conspiracy theory that appeared one year earlier; it also incorporates elements of many other theories. Some experts have described QAnon as a cult.

Only the educated are free. - Epictetus

I think what you are calling “Capitalism” I would call “fascism” the Boeings I listed are not competing in the free market of Capitalism but in the shady dealings of government contracts. I have yet to see a company declare war, that is what governments do, maybe a company might profit from that war but that is after the fact. Look at all the US companies that have had to disinvest in Russia.

Yes, wars are evil and it is governments, not the free market that is the evil here

You have a great weekend

Aye - this is the dark side of capitalism - ‘shady’ deals have been done here in UK between Govt and companies during covid.

But there is one thing we have to not lose sight of - these deals are contrived between people (sadly mostly men) and greed lies at the root.

Thing is I’m a capitalist in that I believe in and participate in a free market, I make money from that market - but here lies the conundrum - first up how do I make that money, second what do I do with it?

First part is easy enough - just work my butt off, make it honestly and legally, second part is not so easy…

Anyways, today got to see some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland - combining work and pleasure.

Take care

Star Trek has always served as a parody of modern culture, The Ferengi were invented to represent capitalism and greed, while Starfleet represented our arrogant government, This little 1-minute speech by Quark from Deep Space Nine puts things in their proper perspective. I will take the Ferengi over Washington any day
