HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana became the first state in the U.S. to enact a complete ban on TikTok on Wednesday when Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed a measure that’s more sweeping than any other state’s attempts to curtail the social media app, which is owned by a Chinese tech company.
“Today, Montana takes the most decisive action of any state to protect Montanans’ private data and sensitive personal information from being harvested by the Chinese Communist Party,” Gianforte said in a statement.

House Republicans have been promising to expose President Joe Biden’s supposedly criminal business dealings with foreign entities for months. But the biggest takeaway from Oversight Committee Chair James Comer’s (R-Ky.) much-hyped press conference on Wednesday revealing the GOP’s “findings” was just the opposite — they don’t have the goods.
What Republicans presented on “judgment day” was a memo outlining more than $10 million in payments received by members of the Biden family from foreign businesses between 2015-2017. But the findings lacked a crucial detail — concrete evidence linking Biden to the dealings of his family members. The omission was so stark that even the president’s most fervent critics at Fox felt the need to confront Comer on the nothingness of the burger.
“Your party, the Republican investigators, say that that’s proof of influence peddling by Hunter and James [Biden], but that’s just your suggestion. You don’t actually have any facts to that point. You’ve got some circumstantial evidence,” said Fox host Steve Doocey in an interview with Comer on Thursday.
“Of all those names, the one person who didn’t profit — there’s no evidence that Joe Biden did anything illegally.”

McCarthy shoots down Russian reporter who says he opposes aid to Ukraine

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said he supports aid to Ukraine and will continue to do so in response to a Russian reporter’s question at a news conference on Monday.
“I vote for aid to Ukraine. I support aid to Ukraine,” McCarthy said at a news conference following his speech to the Knesset, Israel’s legislative body. “I do not support what your country has done to Ukraine. I do not support your killing of the children either.”
The reporter, from Russian state-owned media outlet RIA Novosti, started his question by saying he knows McCarthy doesn’t “support the current unlimited and uncontrolled supply of weaponry and aid to Ukraine” and asked the speaker if it is “possible in the near future the U.S. policy regarding sending weaponry to Ukraine will change?”
McCarthy rejected the reporter’s characterization of his stance and said he believes Russia “should pull out” of Ukraine and doesn’t think Russia’s invasion of the country is legitimate.
“We will continue to support because the rest of the world sees it just as it is,” he said."
People would love for the U.S. and the west to stop supplying aid to Ukraine, giving Russia the advantage. As a result, a country is left defenseless against invaders.

President Joe Biden said he received “flat assurance” from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Ukraine would not use F-16 fighter jets to attack Russian territory.
Earlier this week, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the UK and the Netherlands would build an “international coalition” to help the country procure the fighter jets.
Biden said at a press conference in Hiroshima that “Vladimir Putin will not break our resolve” and reiterated the G7 countries’ “shared and unwavering commitment to stand with the brave people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia’s brutal war of aggression and the war crimes being committed.”
Ok…This is where anyone with an interest in military matters just doesn’t buy this tale of fantasy… This is more of a propaganda exercise of late than what was a few months ago a war of attrition…
The Russians are no longer using aircraft or helicopters over the Ukraine due to the advanced mobile ground to air equipment supplied to the Ukrainians by the west… Taking out their very expensive and very limited number of modern aircraft…
Hence the missile bombardments of crucial infrastructure and strategic towns… The F16’s only advantage against the Russian aircraft is manoeuvrability in a dogfight…
This said… The US supplied jets will never even get close to the 5th gen Russian fighters before being shot out of the sky…
The F16 is not a Bomber or close support platform for troops on the ground… So what use other than supersonic intrusion into Russian or Crimean airspace are these assets going to be??
I don’t see the west supplying Ukraine with super advance weapons at this time, russia is putting a strain on its massive stockpile, the west is waiting and seeing what russia does before sending more advance weapons to Ukraine.

The story is based on the leak of a Fox employee handbook dating from January 2021, which includes policies aimed at affirming staff members’ gender transitions. Employees can dress and use restrooms in accordance with their gender identity and are to be addressed by their preferred pronouns. All of which, for anti-trans hardliners, represents a grotesque betrayal of the brand’s supposed values.
The Daily Signal article notes that none of this is really up to Fox — the handbook policies conform to legal protections enforced by New York (where the company is based) and California (where it maintains a substantial workforce). But the grievance machine cares not for such excuses, and far-right influencers who see no room for compromise in their anti-LGBTQ hate campaign are condemning Fox as a secretly tolerant organization.
