Political Opinion

Totally agree… We have the same problem here of Governments spending Billions with very little infrastructure to show… The state where I live… Victoria is effectively broke…

The Premier (Governor) has already flown to Beijing to ask for funding to finish off cost blown out never used quarantine facilities (Lockdown hangover…) underground rail loop and road improvement projects…

That’s the problem with Social Democratic Styled Governments…

There’s not a Dollar of someone else’s they don’t want to spend…

We even had to cancel the Commonwealth Games here in 2026 as the Government has no money or resources available to run the event in Victoria…

Looks like we still going to get a $500,000,000 bill for breaking the contract…

In your opinion, what is the best style of government?

As I explained above… One in the middle of both Political ideologies… A Centralist Government that caters to citizens of both political persuasions…

Centrism is a political outlook or position involving acceptance or support of a balance of social equality and a degree of social hierarchy while opposing political changes that would result in a significant shift of society strongly to the left or the right.

That would be perfect, But society is either Left or Right, Any politician who gets into office will cater to those ideologies.

Do some research on US Presidents… You will find those that stayed close to the centre…

Those that balanced policies between Centre Right and Centre Left where more popular compared with ideologue’s that came and went in quick succession…

  • Dwight D. Eisenhower
  • John F. Kennedy
  • Richard Nixon
  • Bill Clinton

Not necessarily the best behaved when in office… All four of these presidents did things that both the left and the right would consider good policy and all three were popular with the American people at the high points of their presidencies…

Presidents Gerald Ford and Harry Truman were Moderates as well… And so deserve honourable mentions…

Appears I know more about the United States than some of you Home Boys…

It’s a great list and I agree. However, have we moved beyond the point of a centrism government; the political spectrum in America is toxic right now.

A good idea if it can be achieved, but it seems that one side will always go against the other side that’s in office

It’s up to you guys State side to eke out moderate Politician’s and Vote them in…

A moderate is considered someone occupying any mainstream position avoiding extreme views. In American politics, a moderate is considered someone occupying a centre position on the left–right political spectrum.

Trump was good for the US economy… But he is too arrogant and plays the buffoon… He’s damaged goods now with all the litigation against him… And while on the subject of damaged goods…

Joe Biden is just a Puppet… He has no idea what is going on… And Kamala is not intelligent, astute enough to organise a Chook Raffle… So you are going to have to look deeper down the ranks…

Australian Politics has exactly the same issues… A moderate centrist Prime Minister here and dissenter groups such as the so called Neo Nazi’s would evaporate…

Lets see if we can get another moderate Politician’s, so far everything is either Hard Left Or Hard Right.

It is time for some new blood in American politics as many of these politicians are aging and having mental or health problems, including Biden, Mitchell McConnell, and several supreme court judges and congressmen.

Speaking of a Kennedy, The guy seems to be a big hit with the Rebulicans. I also like him, but wish he had more backing so he could make a major run for the White House.

Something doesn’t seem right about them not protecting him, What’s really going on.

RFK Jr. says DHS denied request for Secret Service protection

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Friday that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had denied his request for Secret Service protection.

“Since the assassination of my father in 1968, candidates for president are provided Secret Service protection. But not me,” Kennedy said on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

“Our campaign’s request included a 67-page report from the world’s leading protection firm, detailing unique and well established security and safety risks aside from commonplace death threats,” he added.

The Secret Service is authorized to protect major presidential and vice presidential candidates and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election. The Homeland Security secretary, in consultation with an advisory committee of House and Senate leadership, determines which candidates are in that “major” category.

The 2024 election, in which Kennedy is a candidate, is more than 460 days away.

Not just in the United States, but around the world, gun violence is a major problem, although some people only wanna focus on America

Five people shot in five days as Sydney’s gun violence escalates

Sydney’s gun violence is on a terrifying upward trajectory after five people were shot in the city’s south-west in separate incidents in the space of just five days.

The world focuses on gun crime in America because you have a Mass Shooting of Innocents every other year… Schools, Colleges, Work Places etc… Only Brazil has a higher Body Count from gun related homicide’s.

The highest number of homicide deaths occurred among people 20-24 years old, while the highest number of gun-enabled suicides happened among those aged 55-59. Brazil recorded the world’s highest number of total gun deaths from all causes combined, with 49,436 out of 250,227 worldwide. The United States has the second-highest number of gun deaths with 37,038.

Gun-related deaths are a fixture in American life and there were 12.09 deaths per 100,000 people, according to 2019 data from gunpolicy.org. For Australia, the rate was 0.90 per 100,000 people showing the significant contrast between the two countries.

Not an issue in Australia… More chance of being bittern by a Snake or attacked by a Shark than being gunned down in the street…

Notice all the names in this News Article… ALL Middle Eastern Drug Families… ALL gunned down by other gang members… The Police couldn’t care less about Gang Members shooting Gang Members…

“The Police want to put an end to the Gang Wars before an Innocent person is killed…”

You could argue that Criminals killing Criminals is not a high priority for law enforcement here…

I hope America don’t think the same way, If there is a pro0blem it’s needs to be address regardless of race , Their is a problem with inner-city gun violence, and this new phenomenon of gun violence and mass shooting of Innocent people have become a major problem in America

More information on why Gun Related Crime is focused on in the United States…

Firearms killed more children and adolescents in 2020 than car accidents, which had long been the leading cause of death for young people, a Washington Post analysis has found.

ice_screenshot_20230729-121106

The change was caused by a 30 percent increase in gun deaths for people 19 and younger in 2020. Gun deaths continued to outpace cars for that age group in 2021, The Post found, as the rate of gun killings increased an additional 8 percent.

Black youths, who have long suffered the highest gun death rates among all racial and ethnic groups, experienced a 39 percent jump — the largest increase — in 2020. The rate for Black youths increased an additional 13 percent in the first 10 months of 2021, the latest for which CDC death records are available.

Gun deaths also increased 37 percent for Hispanic youths in 2020 and 17 percent for non-Hispanic Whites. Vehicles, however, still kill more young people than guns for those demographic groups.

I agree with you, but I also support finding the criminals who sell these guns in inner cities. It’s a bigger picture, no different from drug cartels flooding America with drug and getting away with it.

Inside the cartels controlling Australia’s cocaine trade

This is off Topic for this particular thread, so this will be my last post on this matter…

In Australia, most of the Gun related homicides are the result of brutal criminal immigration… Refugees from war torn Nations where life was deemed as cheap…

Once upon a time in Australia the Bikie Gangs controlled the Drug trade… You crossed the Bikies you generally just got bashed…

Then the Middle Eastern Criminals wanted a piece of the action

In Australia… This latest cohort of criminals are called Nike Bikies… All well dressed and wouldn’t know a Honda from a Harley… Hence the nickname

These Mohammad come lately clowns are no match for the networks, muscle, and sheer number of Bikie Gangs distributing the drugs across Australia, so they had to resort to firearms as a form of intimidation…

Now these idiots… As usual with Gangs… Are fighting amongst themselves for control of the money and the drug distribution business in Australia…

So, as long as they continue to take each other out… It’s a hell of a lot less Police Investigative resources and leg work to just leave them too it…

The issue of criminal activity needs to be addressed as a whole, from the bottom to the top or from the top to the bottom. Either way, a criminal is a criminal and their impact on a country needs to be addressed.

In other words, if you’re living in another country and your country is going through hard times, focusing on the problems in America will not help your country.

What benefit do you bring to your own country?
