Political Opinion

Well I think it’s because they have their own system, like the military…and have had it forever…They are not going to be uninsured tho, lol, they would just like poor people and other working suckers to cure themselves with herbs and perform self operations…

If you are just “staying afloat” with 50 people employed you shd not only close the business but also buy a gun and shoot yourself too…jk, but that’s a lousy businessman or maybe he’s just in the wrong business…

I liked Offspring in my teens…I do this now tho…

awful video but music is awsum

Congress gets preferential treatment just because their system has been around a long time?

What about the companies that were able to get an exemption? That’s fair? Heck, it goes against what obamacare is supposed to be about.

PolitiFact | Unions don’t have to comply with Obamacare, says Crossroads GPS

Heh, when I say staying afloat I mean thin profit margins while still able to earn a nice living. Say you own a business with 50 employees. You’re doing pretty good making 300k/year. I have no idea that’s how much you make, but I do know a guy who has about that many employees and he makes less than that.

Anyway, Obamacare kicks in and you now have to pay for 50 employees at $500/month each. Goodluck with that.

I don’t know how reliable this list is:
List of Obamacare Exempt Companies

Our ruling

In ruling on this statement, we understand that the Obama administration would hardly admit to it if it were giving unions special treatment. But looking at the numbers of waivers that have been given to both union and non-union groups, we don’t see any pattern that would support a case for special treatment. The number of waivers are a small sample of all health plans, and many more waivers were given to big companies and corporations. We looked for additional information or evidence on this point and didn’t find it.
Taken from first link, lol.

What are the salaries like tho?

Yes, and isn’t it ironic that the new poster child for perversion of power for political gain (the IRS) is about to become a lot more powerful as it takes the reins as enforcement agent for Obamacare. After reading the details coming out on the IRS scandal I had to go to Walgreens to buy some anti-vomit medicine…

IRS Scandal Strikes a Severe Blow to Big Government

“A report that finally dropped this week showed that IRS agents in four different offices, including the agency’s Washington DC headquarters, coordinated efforts to seek out applications from conservative groups as early as March 2010. They asked intrusive questions and made ridiculous demands that kept the groups from getting approval as tax-exempt organizations for 27 months.”…

"How effective was the IRS scrutiny? USA Today looked through the data in the IG report and found that in 27 months after February 2010 – just before this strategy was put into practice – no conservative groups managed to get approval for their applications. On the other hand, “the IRS approved perhaps dozens of applications from similar liberal and progressive groups,” USA Today found. Political themes mattered a lot less for those groups, too: “With names including words like “Progress” or “Progressive,” the liberal groups applied for the same tax status and were engaged in the same kinds of activities as the conservative groups.”…

Anyway, the point here is not who deserves “tax exempt” status, which is kind of silly anyway. But if the IRS has been targeting conservatives in its little corner of the Big Government Empire, makes me wonder what the Justice Dept has been doing behind the scenes lately…

Haha
Just out of curiosity, do you understand the difference between Federal, state and municipal governments?
@Jolly…well written posts, but take 2 steps back and look at the real situation…If you for instance now were to take out welfare, social security and medicare out of the equation ,you would wreck the US capitalist economy to such extent that not even a military invasion of Canada for their shell oil and maple syrup would do you any good. . However, in that case, the scenarios of secession that you obviously dream of would become quite real along with another great civil war, ofcourse. Capitalism is the best system we know so far but it is a very flawed and susceptible to corruption when paired with any other democratic, or even worse socialist system (China). You would have taken out some 2 trillion $ yearly out of this capitalist system that needs constant growth…However, if your Congress could just pass laws prohibiting your citizens to hide money in offshore bank accounts, this would make 20 trillion $ or more wealth to be taken back to US owned banks and taxed… Multinational companies hire over 30 MILLION foreign labor. Pass laws that dictate minimum wage of all workers in US owned companies to 5$ and see most of those jobs return back to the US…and so on…A country is not souvereign unless it’s economy is too! None of this would happen ofcourse because all the politicians take direct contributions (bribe) legally from multinationals --and isn’t this because you guys gave corporations rights of citizens and person-hood or some sht lol…An Empire based solely on greed and corruption of it’s original OS, lol, that is what US has become…Now we can talk about Yugoslavia…

Btw, I have mentioned in 2 earlier posts I that the number 91% was the “top bracket” tax rate
First, I kind of agree with you on lowering the minimum wage. There shouldn’t be any national minimum wage. If states want to do it, fine. All it does is ship jobs overseas and prevents people entering the job market from gaining experience to put on their résumé.

I we were to take the necessary steps to fix our economy, such as allowing interest rates to rise, cutting out federal welfare and gutting the federal budget, yes, it would be painful. However the alternative is even more painful in the long run.

But the pain would be temporary and followed up by real, sustainable growth.

Expanding govt or keeping the status quo will probably lead to Balkanization.

Your ideas of taxing the rich more is laughable.

We do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.

Today the us govt takes in $2.5 trillion dollars a year. In 2004 it took in $1.8 trillion… Revenue is up $700 billion dollars.

Guess what, every extra dime the government takes in, is instantaneously pissed away.

If you were to tap some new revenue source, they would blow that money as well. Perhaps they would give themselves even larger raises.

The government of the people by the people and for the people! I could name 1000 ways right now in which your government directly and indirectly made your life better since the great depression. For sure. it seems that BP server is a bit off coz I’m not getting email notifications on time…
Lol.

The government is for the corporations, by the corporations and of the corporations. To think otherwise is the pretense of knowledge.

Laws and regulations are almost always created by lobbyists. Because we no longer follow that pesky old Constitution, politicians are now just PR spokesmen for a group of lobbyists.

It is one lobbyist vs another lobbyist, both represented by a politician who argues that one group has the people’s interest over another.

Drug company lobbyists vs Hospital lobbyists. Health insurance lobbyists Vs AMA. Nurses unions vs medical equipment manufacturers.

“People” are the only ones left out of the fight and we are only good for paying taxes.

Watch decades old movies like Mr. Smith goes to Washington and voters have the same complaints because the game is the same.

It’s all nothing more than political theater and feel good BS.

Johnson & Johnson wants to give welfare to the poor so they can jack up the prices of band aids to equal the welfare increases. The poor never get ahead and the J & J family gets wealthier with taxpayer subsidies.

Large Health Insurance companies want to force people to buy healthcare so they can make more money, and they want more regulations so they can crush the smaller health insurance companies.

SSDD.

It’s cute that you think politicians care about you.

The federal government doesn’t represent me at all. I don’t recall the last time I was pleased by something the federal government did…

Actually, I take that back. For a while I thought the War in Iraq was a splendid idea, but in retrospect, I’d say it wasn’t such a great thing.

Other than that, I suppose the only good thing that ever happens is when legislation fails. But that’s just a brief calm between the rapids of the socialist river.

Perhaps the reason that you are such an apologist for the government is because you receive some of the stolen money. If so, I can understand why you might want more of it.

Meijer is well known for shady ways of getting out of paying for health insurance, and they made the list. So the big companies that did get it won’t have to get insurance for their employees

That I don’t know.

No, obv you don’t agree coz you misunderstood me…I was talking about “universal” minimum wage of 5 $ for domestic and foreign(slave) workforce of 30 million…That would solve the problem quick and bye bye to China’s manufacturing cities with the suicide nets hanging from building to building…

Pretty sure I do.

Would a one world government be ok?

This could be done through tax penalties at home…

One-World Government is the solution to all your problems.

Clint I’m not sure if you’re a Christian man or a fake like every other “born again believer”. I kno it’s off topic just been meaning to say that lol. I do enjoy your posts though.

And I don’t have many problems a government could solve.

The system has become exceedingly corrupt. So what. You need to hit the streets and reclaim your rights instead of hinting secession from the union bcz that has zero chance of happening. Remember, the fed government has nuclear weapons and lots of it…You need to change back the system from within instead! Stage massive protests, form an actual major third and even fourth party to compete with Democrips and Rebloodlicans, organize and occupy town halls and Washington, join Soros Open Society and engage other people in intellectual discussion until you reach middle ground of some kind. You might not think atm that there is middle ground, but there is and it’s called logic and common sense because it is common to all that breathe the same air…No one needs “more government” but everyone needs more efficient government.

First step, take the police state here
